The man was previously&nbsp;charged with 18 felonies, though he pleaded down to just one arson charge. He was only handed a 10-year suspended sentence, reports&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/foxbaltimore.com\/news\/local\/man-torches-ex-girlfriends-home-says-plea-deals-like-his-send-wrong-message-to-baltimore\">FOX 45 News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI was just charged with 18 different counts, that was dropped to 10, that was dropped to one. When I shouldn\u2019t be out right now. I disrupted somebody\u2019s life. I traumatized somebody because of how I felt in a situation,\u201d Luther Trent stated, according to FOX 45 News. \u201cPersonally, yes, I want to be out but principally, no I shouldn\u2019t be out because I could have done a lot more damage than I did. I was expecting to get time. People who were in that situation, they should expect to get time.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Trent was released from prison despite only serving fewer than six months after securing a plea deal via the Baltimore City State\u2019s Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went to the side of the house and poured gasoline on the side of the house,\u201d Trent said. \u201cThe love of my life is in Baltimore. I know where she lives at and I can\u2019t even talk to her. Can\u2019t say nothing to her. In my head, it was some Romeo and Juliet type of thing \u2013 if I can\u2019t have you, no one can have you, at least in Baltimore.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat tells\u2026 anybody that \u2018I can go shoot somebody or I can attempt to shoot somebody, and I\u2019ll be completely fine,\u201d he added. \u201cIt would empower me because I would be like, okay, this man just shot somebody, just blew his head off and he\u2019s just out walking free. I can do anything I want. I can rob somebody, I can shoot somebody, I can do anything I want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even Trent\u2019s former girlfriend, Alexis, expressed disbelief over the plea deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was in shock.
