So what does that mean. It means full scope Medi-Cal including long term care, IHSS, to all low-income Californians regardless of immigration status, regardless of their age, regardless of their immigration status.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">California started including immigrants who are 26 years of age and under in its Medicaid program a few years ago. Last year, it expanded the service to people who are 50 years old and up. Newsom is now calling on state legislators to broaden that to even more people. This wouldn\u2019t take place before January 1st, 2024. The expansion is will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2022-01-10\/california-poised-to-remove-all-immigration-rules-for-medi-cal-healthcare\">cost<\/a> around $2.2 billion each year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Another contentious point of the proposal is the fact that Medi-Cal covers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/newsom-universal-health-care-illegal-immigrants\">abortions<\/a>, meaning this move would fund abortions for citizens and noncitizens, all at the expense of the taxpayer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Assembly members in California are also proposing a state constitutional amendment that could potentially double California\u2019s already high taxes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The amendment would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/faith-freedom-self-reliance\/california-considering-insane-plan-to-double-its-already-high-taxes\">increase<\/a> multiple taxes to finance universal single-payer health care coverage, as well as a health care cost control system. According to the Tax Foundation, the average household\u2019s taxes would go up by $12,250. The median household income in California is approximately $80,000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This all comes at a time when many people are leaving California because of the steep cost of living, which includes the high taxes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/gavin-newsom-proposes-universal-healthcare-regardless-of-immigration-status\">reported<\/a> on Newsom\u2019s proposal, noting that it \u201cis one of many inside Newsom\u2019s proposed 2022-23 state budget he released on Monday, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/newsom-universal-health-care-illegal-immigrants\">Fox News<\/a>. The California Blueprint plan, totaling $213 billion, also includes proposals to fund a state gun buy-back program and invest \u2018billions\u2019 in climate change plans.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cGovernor Newsom\u2019s Blueprint will make California the first state in the nation to offer universal access to healthcare coverage for all state residents, regardless of immigration status,\u201d a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ca.gov\/2022\/01\/10\/governor-newsom-releases-california-blueprint-to-take-on-the-states-greatest-existential-threats-and-build-on-historic-progress\/\">summary<\/a>&nbsp;of the plan says.<\/p>\n<p>Many residents have recently moved out of California due to the high cost of living, among other issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
