Nomani \ud83d\udc3b (@AsraNomani) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AsraNomani\/status\/1480947741056512005?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 11, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cShould this allegation be true, it would reveal that this administration\u2019s pretextual war on parents came from the highest levels,\u201d PDE President Nicole Neily <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/education-secretary-cardona-solicited-nsba-letter-comparing-parents-domestic-terrorists-email\">said<\/a>, as reported by Fox News Digital Tuesday.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The newly obtained documents appear to show an email exchange between NSBA board members Marnie Maldonado and Secretary-Treasurer Kristi Swett, dated October 5-6, 2021, in which Swett asserted Slaven \u201ctold the officers he was writing a letter to provide information to the White House, from a request by Secretary Cordona.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Education Secretary Miguel Cardona solicited the much-criticized letter from the National School Boards Association that compared protesting parents to domestic terrorists, according to an email exchange\u2026obtained by Parents Defending Education&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/otSZLQn43n\">https:\/\/t.co\/otSZLQn43n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Parents Defending Education (@DefendingEd) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DefendingEd\/status\/1480947361169829890?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 11, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The emails are revealed as the Department of Justice (DOJ) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/01\/11\/politics\/justice-department-forms-new-domestic-terrorism-unit\/index.html?utm_content=2022-01-11T17%3A32%3A06&amp;utm_source=twCNNp&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_term=link\">announced<\/a> Tuesday it is establishing a new domestic terrorism unit to combat a perceived domestic terrorism threat, CNN reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe face an elevated threat from domestic violent extremists \u2013 that is, individuals in the United States who seek to commit violent criminal acts in furtherance of domestic social or political goals,\u201d Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen told members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Olsen said DOJ had formed a new unit with attorneys dedicated to domestic terrorism threats, investigations into which, he said, have more than doubled since March 2020.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>He added:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Domestic violent extremists are often motivated by a mix of ideologies and personal grievances. Its letter to Biden read:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NSBA believes immediate assistance is required to protect our students, school board members, and educators who are susceptible to acts of violence affecting interstate commerce because of threats to their districts, families, and personal safety \u2026 Coupled with attacks against school board members and educators for approving policies for masks to protect the health and safety of students and school employees, many public school officials are also facing physical threats because of propaganda purporting the false inclusion of critical race theory within classroom instruction and curricula.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThis propaganda continues despite the fact that critical race theory is not taught in public schools and remains a complex law school and graduate school subject well beyond the scope of a K-12 class,\u201d NSBA asserted, one month after the United States Conference of Mayors&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/09\/10\/u-s-conference-mayors-adopts-resolution-support-k-12-critical-race-theory\/\">adopted<\/a>&nbsp;a resolution during its annual convention in which its members pledged to support the teaching of CRT in K-12 schools.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Education Sec. Won&#8217;t Say Parents are &#8220;Primary&#8221; Stakeholders in Children&#8217;s Education <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SWLlXh6MGx\">pic.twitter.com\/SWLlXh6MGx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1444035005546631169?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 1, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The letter, signed by Garcia and Slaven, also asked Biden to issue an executive order that would serve to protect school officials and school board members from parents by reviewing \u201cappropriate enforceable actions against these crimes and acts of violence under the Gun-Free School Zones Act, the PATRIOT Act in regards to domestic terrorism, the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, the Violent Interference with Federally Protected Rights statute, the Conspiracy Against Rights statute.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to&nbsp;<em>Education Week<\/em>, Slaven&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edweek.org\/policy-politics\/school-boards-ask-biden-to-review-threats-and-violence-as-possible-domestic-terrorism\/2021\/09?M=63883927&amp;U=3202527&amp;UUID=e8465deb6006e19aafc0c409a9859f5f&amp;utm_source=pocket_mylist\">responded<\/a>&nbsp;to a question about whether his group thought local law enforcement intervention was insufficient to address situations that arose in the districts, by stating, \u201cThese incidents are beyond random acts.
