Specifically, the plan would&nbsp;give a tax cut to about 67 percent of the nation\u2019s richest Americans \u2014 those earning more than $885,000 every year \u2014 costing taxpayers about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/15\/joe-biden-democrats-seek-625-billion-tax-cut-for-wealthy-coastal-elites\/\">$625 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Under Biden\u2019s plan, those in the top one percent would receive an average tax cut of more than $16,000 this year. The tax cuts for the wealthy would be a result of the plan\u2019s increasing the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction cap.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the midterm elections in November, House Democrats are warning their rich donors that they must get out and vote for them to secure the massive tax cut. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) called the tax cuts for the rich \u201cessential\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/pcYil\">an interview<\/a> with Bloomberg News.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19450850\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Screen-Shot-2022-01-11-at-3.55.45-PM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19450850\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Screen-Shot-2022-01-11-at-3.55.45-PM.png\" alt=\"BN\" width=\"1482\" height=\"818\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Chart via Bloomberg News<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe need to get that done. It\u2019s not the only thing, but it\u2019s a big thing,\u201d Maloney said, who represents one of New York\u2019s wealthiest areas \u2014 Westchester County. Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) called the tax cut \u201creally important\u201d for her constituency.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIf you want your state and local deductions back, you have to vote for Democrats. Republicans screwed you last time, and they\u2019ll do it again,\u201d Maloney said.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, a number of Democrats are blasting the effort, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">To try to enrich affluent donors, Dems went out and lied to their constituents, pretending the SALT cap hits most middle class families, rather than admitting it mostly affects the rich.<\/p>\n<p>Now the lie has caused a political problem for those same Dems. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mPM0AMBeaC\">https:\/\/t.co\/mPM0AMBeaC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 David Sirota (@davidsirota) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/davidsirota\/status\/1480572667405107202?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 10, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Sanders has said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>At a time of massive income and wealth inequality, the last thing we should be doing is giving more tax breaks to the very rich. Democrats campaigned and won on an agenda that demands that the very wealthy finally pay their fair share, not one that gives them more tax breaks.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, Democrats want to squeeze an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/26\/bidens-build-back-better-irs-audits-for-working-class-tax-cuts-for-the-rich\/\">extra $200 billion<\/a>&nbsp;out of American taxpayers by mostly targeting working and middle class earners with more Internal Revenue Services (IRS) audits.<\/p>\n<p>The plan ensures nearly 600,000 more working and middle class Americans earning $75,000 or less a year would be audited by the IRS. Of those new IRS audits, more than 313,000 would target the poorest of Americans who earn $25,000 or less a year.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, former President Trump had the SALT deduction capped at $10,000. Since then, Democrats have sought to deliver their wealthy, blue state donors with a massive tax cut by eliminating the cap altogether or greatly increasing it.<\/p>\n<p>Biden, for instance,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/01\/16\/democrats-again-consider-bailing-out-the-wealthy-with-billions-in-tax-cuts\/\">had sought<\/a>&nbsp;to include tax cuts for his billionaire donors in a Chinese coronavirus relief package earlier this year. The plan was ultimately cut from the package. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), in May 2020, also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/05\/16\/pelosi-coronavirus-plan-bails-out-the-rich-with-tax-breaks-cheap-labor\/\">tried to include<\/a>&nbsp;the plan in a coronavirus relief package.<\/p>\n<p><em>John Binder is a reporter for Breitbart News.
