How can they not have a path to citizenship when we\u2019ve given them work permits and told them it\u2019s okay to be here?\u201d\u2026 There\u2019s nothing sympathetic or humanitarian about what the Democrats are doing. This is a political ploy. By trying to ratchet [migration] up in increments, they\u2019re trying to hide from the American people that the overall objective is just straight-up maximum amnesty and citizenship for this population.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The proposal is a greedy effort to extract human resources from poor countries, he added:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Giving out work permits to illegal aliens is poaching the workforce of all of these countries around the world that are desperate for their own workers to build and rebuild their own economies. This is a selfish push by actors in the United States that is intended to maximize profits. [Democrats] are incentivizing this workforce extraction at overall peril to the home countries.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">The request comes as Biden\u2019s amnesty plans are blocked because Democrats cannot push the Build Back Better immigration changes through the Senate.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">The letter was signed by top Democratic leaders, including Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Dick Durbin (D-IlL).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">It was signed by two Democrats who face tough elections this year: Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA)&nbsp;<\/span>and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV).<\/p>\n<p>But it was also not signed by two other Democrats in tight races, Sen. Mark Kelly (D-NV) and Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH).<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, nearly all of the 17 Democrats who did not sign the letter would not protest the amnesty, despite the harm it would do to Americans.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>And the establishment wing of the GOP will likely not exploit the letter in the 2022 elections against Warnock and Cortez Masto.&nbsp;The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/11\/20\/gop-donors-economist-immigration-can-offset-foreign-trade-risks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GOP\u2019s donors<\/a> prefer GOP leaders to accept their use of&nbsp;illegal migrants in the U.S economy and instead to focus the public\u2019s attention on the chaotic border.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is our view that El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua meet the standards for TPS,\u201d says the letter from the 33 Democrat Senators.&nbsp;It claims:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The crisis in Central America is urgent. In the past year, the region has experienced extreme weather events, including two hurricanes followed by a months-long drought. According to the World Food Program (WFP), farmers in the region face the worst dry farming season in 35 years. Hunger in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua has increased almost fourfold \u2026&nbsp;Media report that the region\u2019s citizens are having to choose between migrating or facing hunger.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Over one million Central Americans have been displaced by violence and insecurity. Gender-based violence continues to be a major driver of displacement, with rates increasing dramatically throughout 2020. \u2026 Additionally, countries in the region have suffered severe democratic backsliding and political persecution is on the rise, including through the consolidation of a dictatorship in Nicaragua, the dismantling of independent judiciaries, and efforts to intimidate and silence civil society and independent media.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Advocates for more migration cheered the move:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Granting TPS to anyone from Central America is not unlawful. The TPS statute specifically lists epidemic as a reason to grant TPS. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/36DRCrYhpY\">https:\/\/t.co\/36DRCrYhpY<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YLC4owvY8a\">pic.twitter.com\/YLC4owvY8a<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Alex Nowrasteh (@AlexNowrasteh) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlexNowrasteh\/status\/1480923451875643392?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 11, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Millions of poor people have been extracted from Central America since 2010 when President Barack Obama\u2019s deputies ignored federal law and created the catch-and-release border policy.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>President Donald Trump shut down the transfer in 2020. But President Joe Biden reopened the doors in 2021 by allowing more than one million people across the border, either via quasi-legal loopholes or by the partial implementation of enforcement laws.<\/p>\n<p>Under current estimates, roughly one million Hondurans live in the United States, alongside more than one million people from El Salvador, one million people from Guatemala, and perhaps 300,000 from Nicaragua.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrats\u2019 demand for a TPS declaration is domestic politics, said Law:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Is a continuation of the coastal elites bettering themselves financially and by patting themselves on the back \u2026 that they really care about the plight of others. But of course, the others never include their own citizens who are subjected to gang violence or poverty, or opioid epidemics. So it\u2019s really easy for the coastal elites or the suburbanites in their gated communities to hear these sad stories about how poor things are in Central America, while there\u2019s is similar poverty and violence in neighboring communities.<\/p>\n<p>They just simply do not care. This is the class distinction that is going on in the United States: There\u2019s absolute disdain towards the lower class of blue-collar workers in the United States. They have no voice whatsoever, and there\u2019s more perceived sympathy [among elites] for illegal aliens from south of the border than for their fellow citizens.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This imported population from Central America cuts Americans\u2019&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/04\/08\/elite-academics-hide-amnesty-wage-pain-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wages<\/a>&nbsp;and raises their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/16\/new-yorks-mayoral-rivals-vow-cheap-housing-plus-more-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">housing costs<\/a>. It also curbs Americans\u2019&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/07\/11\/president-trump-wins-big-on-secret-meatpacking-robots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">productivity<\/a>, shrinks their political&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com+%22john+binder%22+%22demographic+change%22&amp;rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS946US946&amp;oq=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com+%22john+binder%22+%22demographic+change%22&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.10228j0j4&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">clout<\/a>, widens&nbsp;regional wealth&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/08\/13\/zuckerbergs-data-says-amnesty-gives-economic-windfall-coastal-democratic-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gaps<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/01\/survey-elite-imposed-migration-is-transforming-national-politics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">radicalizes<\/a>&nbsp;their democratic, compromise-promoting civic&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/search\/?s=%22white+supremacy%22#gsc.tab=0&amp;gsc.q=%22white%20supremacy%22&amp;gsc.page=1\" target=\"_blank\" society<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/03\/30\/harvard-harris-poll-5-in-6-americans-want-to-end-immigration-from-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wide<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/01\/14\/poll-americans-want-companies-hire-americans-before-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">variety<\/a>&nbsp;of little-publicized <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/04\/13\/ipsos-poll-nearly-8-in-10-americans-want-immigration-moratorium-for-u-s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polls<\/a> do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/08\/05\/poll-swing-voters-hugely-oppose-2020-democrats-promising-more-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">show<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2020\/04\/24\/poll-trumps-opponents-applaud-his-jobs-for-americans-immigration-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deep<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2017\/01\/31\/poll-shows-public-support-trump-migration-poicy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broad<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/05\/28\/business-poll-backfires-shows-public-wants-less-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opposition<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/11\/16\/exit-polls-3-in-4-voters-want-less-immigration-during-and-after-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">labor migration<\/a>&nbsp;and the inflow of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/08\/06\/ipsos-poll-public-opposes-migrant-workers-by-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">temporary<\/a> contract workers&nbsp;into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates.<\/p>\n<p>This&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/03\/05\/survey-americans-underestimate-quiet-public-opposition-to-legal-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\"
