The Telegraph also noted that the Queen is already funding Prince Andrew\u2019s legal battle against Giuffre.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to financial support from his mother, Prince Andrew has now settled a \u00a36.6 million debt with Isabelle de Rouvre, a French socialite, allowing him to sell a Swiss chalet purchased in 2014 for \u00a318 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is the end of the story thankfully,\u201d Rouvre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10385777\/Prince-Andrew-settles-6-6m-debt-French-socialite-buying-Swiss-ski-chalet.html\">told<\/a> the Daily Mail. \u201cThe war is finished. It is the end of the matter. I have nothing to do with it now. That\u2019s all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAndrew and his ex-wife had agreed with Rouvre that Chalet Helora in the ski resort of Verbier in the Swiss Alps, would be paid for in installments. But Rouvre claimed the two failed to make the final \u00a35m installment,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk-news\/2022\/jan\/11\/prince-andrew-sell-swiss-chalet\">The Guardian<\/a> reported. \u201cInitially Rouvre agreed the final installment could be deferred until December 2019, with interest accruing, but the Yorks still did not honor the agreement despite repeated demands, it was reported.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prince Andrew\u2019s legal woes were accelerated following the recent conviction of Ghislaine Maxwell, a close associate of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein \u2014 a close friend of Prince Andrew \u2014 on sex trafficking charges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrince Andrew has been under scrutiny for years over allegations that he sexually abused Virginia Giuffre when she was underage. Giuffre is one of Epstein\u2019s most high-profile accusers and has claimed the dead financier sex trafficked her to Prince Andrew,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/prince-andrews-attorneys-huddle-in-emergency-talks-following-ghislaine-maxwell-verdict-report\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported. \u201cGiuffre says that a 2001 picture of her, Prince Andrew, and Maxwell was taken during the time she was being abused by the British royal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Part of Prince Andrew\u2019s legal strategy against the civil case involves the now-unveiled 2009 agreement between Giuffre and Epstein.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe settlement signed by Prince Andrew\u2019s accuser that the Duke hopes will lead to the dismissal of her sex assault lawsuit against him was unsealed today,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10364819\/Unsealed-settlement-Jeffrey-Epstein-Virginia-Robert-makes-no-mention-Prince-Andrew.html\">The Daily Mail<\/a> reported. \u201cSigned in 2009, Virginia Giuffre agreed to be paid $500,000 by Jeffrey Epstein to resolve the sex abuse case against him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the Mail explained, while the document makes no mention of Andrew by name, it does stipulate \u201cother potential defendants\u201d are included in the agreement. It appears that Prince Andrew will be relying on being included in the vague category defined by \u201cother potential defendants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to that agreement: \u201cHereby release, acquit, satisfy, and forever discharge the said Second Parties and any other person or entity who could have been included as a potential defendant (\u2018Other Potential Defendants\u2019) from all, and all manner of, action and actions of Virginia Roberts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Brettler, who represents Prince Andrew, previously told a New York hearing the agreement \u201creleases Prince Andrew and others from any purported liability arising from the claims Ms Giuffre asserted against Prince Andrew here,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-59857168\">BBC<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Ian Haworth is an Editor and Writer for The Daily Wire.
