Report, as he accused them of posing a threat to the country\u2019s political stability and blasted their use of the January 6 Capitol riot to advance their political agendas.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Giordano joined Steve Malzberg on his <i>Eat the Press<\/i> weekly commentary show to discuss the exploitation of January 6 by Democrats and the dangers to democracy they present.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Claiming \u201cthere\u2019s going to be a red wave\u201d in the coming November midterms, Giordano warned that Democrats and their enablers in the media were \u201calready setting it up where those results should be questioned and challenged.\u201d<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p><b>Capitol Riot Exploitation<\/b><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Describing it as \u201ca slow-motion train wreck,\u201d Giordano said that exploitation of the Capitol riot by Democrats for nefarious purposes was bound to occur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone knew that the Democrats were going to take advantage of what took place on January 6, where almost every single Republican and conservative universally condemned what happened,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>He also claimed that such exploitation is the \u201cimpetus\u201d of the Justice Department\u2019s \u201cNational Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism\u201d laid out by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland in June.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re using it to justify the government [and] the buildout of their surveillance state,\u201d he warned, \u201cand when you look at the words that were used when describing January 6 \u2014 comparing it to 9\/11 and Pearl Harbor and the Holocaust \u2014 understand that those words were chosen carefully.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Claiming \u201cit\u2019s not like they just slipped and they over-exaggerated,\u201d Giordano said, \u201cThey went through speechwriters, people looked at those speeches, and then they approved them, loaded them onto the teleprompter, and the politicians gave those speeches and it\u2019s designed to empower the federal government to target political opposition\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s what we\u2019re seeing today, and that\u2019s actually the true threat to democracy that we\u2019re seeing,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In response to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland saying last week on the eve of the first anniversary of January 6 that the Justice Department \u201cremains committed to holding all January 6 perpetrators at any level accountable under law, whether they were present that day or were otherwise criminally responsible for the assault on our democracy,\u201d Giordano cautioned that such broad terms could potentially extend to even those who simply question election results.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWhat I find interesting, once again taking it back to the National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism, is if you look on page ten, it says that the narratives questioning the election of 2020, the narratives of January 6, that that could lead to incitement. It could lead to incite domestic violent extremists, and therefore you could be declared anti-government, anti-authority, and domestic terrorists,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust look at Merrick Garland and all he\u2019s done at the Attorney General\u2019s office where he wants to target and \u2018threat tag\u2019 parents that complain at school boards,\u201d he added. \u201cHe wants to target his political opposition.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_15846098\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/GettyImages-1231327423.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15846098\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/GettyImages-1231327423.png\" alt=\"Attorney General nominee Merrick Garland listens during his Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC on February 22, 2021. (Photo by AL DRAGO\/POOL\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>He then highlighted the \u201ccontinued abuses\u201d that target citizens, though \u201cnobody talks about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe United States Postal Service has a program called ICOP [Internet Covert Operations Program] that nobody really talks about, but they monitor social media \u2014 what Americans are posting on social media,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat does mail have to do with what Americans are posting on social media?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou [also] have the FBI that has been lambasted over the course of the last three years about continually illegally getting information on Americans by accessing the NSA repository for information on Americans,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He also criticized Republican silence toward the issue, which he described as \u201creally frightening,\u201d while calling attention to specific terminology that long predated the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSure, they spoke up about the school board meetings, but they don\u2019t speak up about this National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd when we look at the word[s] \u2018domestic enemies,\u2019 understand that it was used long before January 6,\u201d he added. \u201cSpeaker [Nancy] Pelosi used \u2018domestic enemies\u2019 in September of 2020 to describe Republicans and her political opponents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Americans in the Crosshairs<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In response to the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/week-transcript-22-dr-anthony-fauci-rep-liz\/story?id=82031557\">recommendation<\/a> of Rep. Bennie Thompson, chairman of the select committee investigating the January 6 riot, to improve intelligence gathering against potential domestic threats, Giordano warned of Americans being caught in the crosshairs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey want to import the war on terror \u2014 the tools that we use in the war on terror \u2014 to be used against American citizens,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s what they want to do, and I find it really interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Claiming \u201cwe keep on hearing talk about these organizations that are a threat to democracy,\u201d he contrasted such groups with how actual known threats are treated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you look at terrorist organizations like al-Qaeda and ISIS, if you look at organized crime, the Italian mob or the Mexican cartels, we have entire flowcharts: the command and control structures, who\u2019s in charge of these organizations, [and] who are the leaders within the organization,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t see any of that being released by the government [concerning these supposed domestic terror threats],\u201d he added, noting that the \u201ccommand or control structure\u201d as well the \u201coperational capability\u201d and names of the organizations that \u201cthey\u2019re really talking about\u201d are never publicized.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t see any of that, yet they keep on talking about these organizations that are such a threat to democracy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell then put out their names,\u201d he demanded. \u201cWhat are they capable of? Why are they such a threat? Explain it to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut they haven\u2019t done it,\u201d he added. \u201cInstead, they use vague terminology. They use these vague threats and they want to make it as open-ended as possible because that\u2019s what allows them to target political opponents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Democracy in Danger<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Giordano also listed several threats to American democracy, arguing that \u201cdemocracy is in danger because we have elected and appointed officials who have no regard for the Constitution or the people they serve.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18155162\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Kamala.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18155162\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Kamala.jpeg\" alt=\"U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris delivers remarks as U.S. President Joe Biden looks on in the Rose Garden of the White House on July 26, 2021, in Washington, DC. (Anna Moneymaker\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThey have no regard and want to just rule by authoritarian decrees bypassing state legislative bodies and Congress,\u201d he said. \u201cDemocracy\u2019s in danger when our elected representatives continue to weaponize our institutions and target ordinary Americans, target anyone who dissents from their political narrative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s where democracy is in danger,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He also warned of the danger to democracy \u201cwhen you have a federal agency that can sit there [and] create a BS investigation into a duly elected president because they don\u2019t like him and they wanted to try and take him down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI find that to be a real threat to democracy because that\u2019s what they do in banana republics,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd this is exactly what we see in Third World countries. So that\u2019s why democracy is really in danger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then blasted \u201cDemocrat logic,\u201d which supports destroying democracy in order to \u201csave\u201d it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you listen to the Democrat logic \u2014 in order to save the Republic, in order to save democracy, we must destroy it \u2014 we must get rid of the filibuster; we must change the way the Senate operates; we have to change the way elections are held and federalize those elections; we have to add justices to the Supreme Court; we have to disqualify hundreds of Republicans from running for office,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly that \u2014 by destroying democracy \u2014 can we actually save it,\u201d he added. \u201cThat\u2019s the logic they\u2019re going by.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He concluded by blasting the Biden administration\u2019s campaign to purge \u201cextremists\u201d from the military while calling recent warnings by ex-generals of a potential coup on the horizon \u201canother example of how our institutions have been politically weaponized.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot a single general was held accountable for the failures in Afghanistan, yet they sit there and they want to focus internally on our soldiers who are the most professional people that we actually have in this society, rather than focus on the real threats that exist out there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it\u2019s the same thing that we\u2019re seeing in a lot of institutions within government,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In October, in light of a Justice Department memo intended to \u201cintimidate\u201d and \u201csilence\u201d concerned parents at school board meetings, Giordano <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/17\/professor-giordano-since-when-does-national-school-boards-association-define-domestic-terrorism\/\">pleaded<\/a> with parents to be \u201ccourageous\u201d and \u201cspeak out\u201d before \u201cit\u2019ll be too late,\u201d while blasting the notion that the National School Board Association (NSBA) could define \u201cdomestic terrorism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[T]he DOJ memo is an extension of this [National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism], where they\u2019re using it to target any and all political opponents, it\u2019s clear,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><i><em>Follow Joshua Klein on Twitter&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/joshuaklein_\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@JoshuaKlein.<\/a><\/em><\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Democrats are using \u201cDemocrat logic\u201d to \u201csave\u201d democracy through destroying it, warned Nicholas Giordano, a professor of political science and host of The P.A.S.
