The edited transcript was first <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/589001-supreme-court-issues-revised-transcript-of-gorsuch-remark-about-flu\">reported<\/a> on by The Hill.<\/p>\n<p>From 2010-2020, between 12,000 and 61,000 people died of the flu every year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/flu\/about\/burden\/past-seasons.html\">according<\/a> to estimates from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Here\u2019s the audio from the hearing. Sotomayor asserted that more than 100,000 children are \u201cin serious condition,\u201d with \u201cmany on ventilators,\u201d despite the fact that fewer than 83,000 children have been hospitalized with the virus throughout the entire pandemic.
