Pat Fallon is calling on the Biden administration to make monoclonal antibodies available for individual states to purchase, instead of allocating them through a formula.<\/p>\n<p>With supply of the drug limited, the Biden administration has used a formula based on population and risk factors to distribute the antibodies, <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Health\/gop-governors-accuse-biden-controlling-supply-covid-treatments\/story?id=82070012\">according<\/a> to ABC News. The administration has also refused to distribute the drug to regions where the Omicron variant constitutes at least 80% of new COVID-19 cases, citing a decreased effectiveness against the new variant.<\/p>\n<p>Advocated by political and medical figures from White House Chief Medical Adviser Dr. Anthony <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/25\/de-santis-anthony-fauci-promotes-monoclonal-antibodies\/\">Fauci<\/a> to Republican Florida Gov. Ron <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/04\/florida-ron-desantis-moncolonal-antibody-therapy-christina-pushaw\/\">DeSantis<\/a>, monoclonal antibodies can be <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/16\/antibody-regneron-death-covid-19-fda\/\">injected<\/a> into COVID-19 patients whose bodies are not naturally producing antibodies to the virus. Then-President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/11\/23\/regeneron-coronavirus-antibody-treatment-doses-fda\/\">received<\/a> the treatment in 2020 when he was hospitalized with COVID-19, and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/10\/regeneron-monoclonal-antibodies-aaron-rodgers-covid-19-coronavirus\/\">received<\/a> it in November after contracting the virus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the beginning, the Biden Administration\u2019s COVID strategy has been a failure. We should be using every resource at our disposal to fight this virus. Instead of doing so, President Biden is choosing to push a political agenda by denying states direct access to necessary therapies. As we have learned over the past weeks, full vaccination will not stop the spread of COVID-19. Greg Abbott to push back. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/29\/florida-surgeon-general-monoclonal-antibodies-biden-administration-covid-coronavirus\/\"><strong>(RELATED: Florida Surgeon General Claims Biden Admin Is \u2018Actively Preventing\u2019 Distribution Of COVID Treatments)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand the need for states to receive equitable treatment in the distribution of monoclonal antibodies but injecting the federal government in the process can only slow it down and add an unnecessary level of bureaucracy in our time of need,\u201d Fallon wrote of the apportioning formula.<\/p>\n<p>The pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/deals\/canada-signs-deal-buy-20000-doses-gsk-covid-19-drug-sotrovimab-2022-01-06\/\">promised<\/a> to speed up production of the drug.
