This weekend, Kane was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/sports\/2021\/10\/19\/nhl-suspends-evander-kane-21-games-for-fake-covid-vaccination-card\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">placed<\/a> on unconditional waivers for violating the AHL\u2019s protocols.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Sharks announced that Kane was on the road to termination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe San Jose Sharks have informed Evander Kane that he has been placed on unconditional waivers with intent to terminate his contract for breach of his NHL Standard Player Contract and for violation of the AHL COVID-19 protocol,\u201d the club <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/sharks\/news\/statement-from-sharks-regarding-evander-kane\/c-329592480\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> on Saturday. \u201cThe Club will have no further comment on this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kane\u2019s visit to Vancouver last month while still in the league\u2019s COVID protocols was his latest violation of the rules.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The player\u2019s union, the National Hockey League Players Association, quickly spoke up about the announced plans to terminate Kane over the protocol violations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are aware of the San Jose Sharks\u2019 stated intent to terminate Evander Kane\u2019s contract,\u201d the NHLPA said in a tweeted statement. \u201cThe NHLPA intends to challenge any such action by filing a grievance.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We are aware of the San Jose Sharks\u2019 stated intent to terminate Evander Kane\u2019s contract.&nbsp;The NHLPA intends to challenge any such action by filing a grievance.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NHLPA (@NHLPA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NHLPA\/status\/1479940835605106699?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 8, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Kane\u2019s agent also spoke out about the decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are aware of the Sharks\u2019 decision to put Evander on waivers for contract termination,\u201d agent Dan Milstein said on Twitter. \u201cIf he clears, we will file a grievance. During my suspension, I will continue to participate in counseling to help me make better decisions in the future. He was also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2021\/10\/26\/sharks-evander-kane-estranged-wife-drop-domestic-violence-restraining-orders-against-each-other\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accused<\/a> of domestic assault by his ex-wife. However, after looking into the matter, the league said they could not find enough evidence to substantiate the claims.<\/p>\n<p>Also, in September, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/nhl-finds-no-evidence-evander-kane-gambled-on-games\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">allegations<\/a> were made that Kane was betting onNHL games in violation of league rules.
