Biden\u2019s COVID strategy: \u201cTo be 22 months into this crisis and to have people waiting online for testing and not be able to get tests after he appropriated $1.9 trillion\u2026is incompetence of a monumental scale.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/abzEyuEd2O\">https:\/\/t.co\/abzEyuEd2O<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6W9gxQTXG4\">pic.twitter.com\/6W9gxQTXG4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 ABC News Politics (@ABCPolitics) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ABCPolitics\/status\/1480232152100921355?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 9, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, he couldn\u2019t be much more wrong than he\u2019s been of late,\u201d Christie replied. \u201cTo be 22 months into this crisis and have people waiting on line for testing and not be able to get tests after he appropriated $1.9 trillion to try to deal with this when he first came into office is incompetence of a monumental scale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Christie went on to say that what the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/fundamental-lack-of-strategy-gop-sens-blunt-burr-demand-answers-from-biden-administration-on-covid-test-shortage\/\">Biden Administration<\/a> needed was a new strategy or a new way to approach the problem \u2014 and that the very first thing they should do was to get the testing situation under control.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the ways would be \u2014 how about getting competent on testing? Because that\u2019s a key part of the strategy of moving forward here and trying to keep people safe, is to keep people apprised of their status to try to lessen the spread of Omicron, which is obviously a much more contagious strain than some of the other strains that we\u2019ve had, certainly the Delta strain,\u201d Christie explained. \u201cThat \u2014 you know \u2014 so that\u2019s Joe Biden\u2019s first problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis second problem is that he\u2019s dealing in a situation now where he has set extraordinarily high expectations,\u201d Christie said, pointing to Biden\u2019s oft-repeated campaign promise to \u201cdefeat the virus\u201d or \u201cshut down the virus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was the wrong way to go about this from the beginning,\u201d Christie continued. \u201cHe oversold on the vaccines. It was never that the vaccines were going to prevent you from getting COVID. It was going to prevent you from being hospitalized or from dying from COVID. So he set too high an expectation. He\u2019s now not hit that mark. He\u2019s failed on testing. He needs a new story, George, and he needs that fast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fellow panelist \u2014 and former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/donna-brazile-out-at-fox-news-joins-abc-news-as-contributor\/\">Donna Brazile<\/a> objected, saying that more and more Americans were getting vaccinated every day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the administration is moving at warp speed, something that President Trump signaled when we started getting these vaccines created,\u201d Brazile said. \u201cSo it is important that the American people, along with governors and state public health officials continue to encourage vaccines, boosters for those who are age appropriate to get them, to provide these testing kits that I hope will be delivered to every American. Teach them how to use it so that we can stop the spread of this virus. That is our number one goal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brazile concluded with one more call for people to get vaccinated, adding, \u201cWear a mask. There is nothing wrong with wearing a mask. Get an appropriate one. And secondly, we have to protect others by getting this vaccine. I am going to continue to stress. Get vaccinated. Get boosted. It won\u2019t harm you. Trust me. Look at me.
