And that puts a fair amount of pressure on me to do that. No, I mean, look, when I made that pledge, when my wife (Jane) and I made that pledge, that was our very strong preference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/01\/07\/politics\/ron-johnson-reelection-plans\/index.html\">CNN<\/a> also reported Friday that Republicans were \u201cgrowing bullish\u201d that Johnson would announce he was running again, with one source saying that Johnson could make an announcement as soon as next week. The outlet cited several anonymous sources who said that Senate Republicans have the \u201cdistinct impression\u201d that Johnson is going to run again, and \u201cwould be surprised if he did not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnson, for his part, has been mum on the subject. \u201cI\u2019m not ready to say anything,\u201d Johnson told CNN. Asked by the outlet if he was going to announce his campaign next week, Johnson simply said, \u201cI do all kinds of events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Top Republicans have also publicly expressed interest in Johnson running again. \u201cI\u2019ve always believed he\u2019s going to run,\u201d said Florida Senator Rick Scott, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Former Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Andrew Hitt concurred. \u201cI fully expect to see Sen. Johnson run for reelection,\u201d he told CNN. \u201cHe\u2019s continued to travel the state. He\u2019s been very active. All signs really point to him getting in the race very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), when asked if he wanted Johnson to run in November, said, \u201cOf course I do,\u201d CNN reported.<\/p>\n<p>According to both outlets, Johnson is favored by operatives in both parties in a race that is considered one of the more competitive races in the 2022 midterms. Democrats see Johnson as vulnerable because of past statements he made regarding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/youtube-bans-republican-senator-for-discussing-covid-19-treatment\">COVID-19 treatments<\/a> and the January 6 Capitol riot. Republicans, however, see Johnson\u2019s incumbency and the favorable electoral environment as advantages in the race, which could possibly determine whether Republicans flip the Senate in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans are looking at a favorable election map in 2022. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report\u2019s ratings currently have Republicans in prime position to flip the Senate and House of Representatives, even without Johnson. The election prognosticator shifted its projections for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cook-political-report-shifts-three-senate-races-toward-republicans-amid-biden-approval-tanking\">Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada Senate<\/a> races toward Republicans in November, and its current projections for the House of Representatives has Republicans in prime position to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cook-political-report-projects-republicans-to-take-house-in-2022\">flip the House majority<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
