Rockford is approximately 90 miles northwest of Chicago.&nbsp;The department had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wifr.com\/2022\/01\/07\/two-charged-with-battery-rockford-firefighter-police-officer\/\">received<\/a> a report of a \u201cbattery involving a Rockford firefighter,\u201d WIFR reports. The firefighter was taken to a local hospital, treated, and then released.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The 18-year-old suspect, Jeremiah Span, \u201cwas not on the scene at the time the officers arrived but was located a short time later and taken into custody,\u201d WTVO reports.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Rockford man and woman charged with assaulting a firefighter, police officer <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/61P0YtTgLY\">https:\/\/t.co\/61P0YtTgLY<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XR59vAErEh\">pic.twitter.com\/XR59vAErEh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Eyewitness News WTVO\/WQRF (@MyStateline) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MyStateline\/status\/1479480373105025025?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 7, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While authorities took the 18-year-old into custody, police <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrex.com\/news\/crime\/rockford-man-woman-charged-with-aggravated-battery-to-a-firefighter-police-officer\/article_2281ede0-6fd0-11ec-b028-23bcfa51819e.html\">say<\/a> 25-year-old Fajah Span, a woman, struck an officer in the face, per WREX.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities charged Jeremiah Span with aggravated battery to a firefighter and charged Fajah Span with aggravated battery to a police officer.<\/p>\n<p>They are both being held without bond in Winnebago County Jail.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The alleged incidents follow the unrelated alleged brutal&nbsp;<a title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/crime\/2022\/01\/04\/prosecutor-seeks-death-penalty-in-killing-of-il-police-sgt-rittmanic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">killing<\/a>&nbsp;of Bradley, Illinois police Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic on December 30. Authorities say Rittmanic was fatally shot while investigating a noise complaint at a Comfort Inn on North State Highway 50 in Bradley, Breitbart News reported.
