Previous swatting incidents have been precipitated by false reports of shootings, bomb scares, and other dangerous situations.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Footage from Pool\u2019s podcast shows police officers entering the studio.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Well this happened  <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DgzqGrvc29\">pic.twitter.com\/DgzqGrvc29<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Luke Rudkowski (@Lukewearechange) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Lukewearechange\/status\/1479287557036908545?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 7, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the past, swatting has led to deaths as armed police have opened fire on unsuspecting swatting targets. In 2017, a 28-year old man in Kansas was <a href=\"https:\/\/krebsonsecurity.com\/2017\/12\/kansas-man-killed-in-swatting-attack\/\">shot and killed by police<\/a> during a swatting incident. In 2020, a 60-year old man in Tennessee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wkrn.com\/news\/swatting-call-leads-to-death-of-tn-man-targeted-for-twitter-handle\/\">died of a heart attack<\/a> after being targeted by a swatting hoax.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>According to Pool, the swatting incident involved police from several jurisdictions in eight vehicles. The swatter reportedly told police that an active shooting was underway at the property.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomeone called police and said they shot and killed two people and were going to kill more,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/timcast\/status\/1479279675868340224?s=21\">said Pool<\/a>. \u201cPolice were told not to enter without a warrant but said they didn\u2019t need one due to exigent circumstances.&nbsp;This is a large house used as a production studio with many employees on site.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Police radio recordings appear to indicate that officers <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/timcast\/status\/1479464103089512452?s=21\">suspected the call was a swatting hoax<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the incident live on air, regular co-host Luke Rudkowski highlighted the dangerousness of swatting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s something that\u2019s extremely dangerous, extremely reckless\u2026 Swat incidents have led to a lot of innocent people dying. Dogs being shot. People being shot.
