Bush who hails from McConnell\u2019s Kentucky. \u201cThey are at a funeral for their colleague, Johnny Isakson. Who died,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/scottjenningsky\/status\/1479179918403686400\">tweeted<\/a> Jennings, a PR strategist who serves as a CNN contributor. He also <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ScottJenningsKY\/status\/1479193950435086343\">noted<\/a> that House Republicans had a good reason not to be in the Capitol. \u201cNot to mention that the House isn\u2019t even in session this week,\u201d he wrote. \u201cMost [Republicans] are back home working in their districts. But they came together at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, in Atlanta\u2019s Buckhead neighborhood, to honor Mr. Isakson,\u201d wrote Times reporter Richard Fausset.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Wtf? Literally the same newspaper also published this at the same time<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XXUHxbWbub\">https:\/\/t.co\/XXUHxbWbub<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Davey Crockpot (@CrockpotIi) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CrockpotIi\/status\/1479226203018047489?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 6, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The funeral \u2014 which took place at 2 p.m. on Thursday \u2014 conflicted with the event, where Vice President Kamala Harris likened January 6 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/kamala-harris-compares-january-6-riot-to-pearl-harbor-9-11\">Pearl Harbor and the 9\/11 terrorist attacks<\/a>, which claimed more than 5,000 Americans\u2019 lives.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the day, McConnell <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/far-washington-mcconnell-accuses-democrats-184416610.html\">issued<\/a> a statement praising D.C. police for their actions during January 6, before accusing Democrats of trying to purge Republicans from<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been stunning to see some Washington Democrats try to exploit this anniversary to advance partisan policy goals that long predated this event.
