During a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/press-briefings\/2021\/02\/05\/press-briefing-by-press-secretary-jen-psaki-and-council-of-economic-advisers-member-jared-bernstein-february-5-2021\/\">press briefing<\/a> on Friday, Psaki was asked how the Biden administration is handling the surge of illegal immigrants crossing over the U.S.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Tune in for a briefing with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PressSec?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@PressSec<\/a> Jen Psaki and Council of Economic Advisers Member <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/econjared46?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@econjared46<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Z9BnaFOlju\">https:\/\/t.co\/Z9BnaFOlju<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The White House (@WhiteHouse) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WhiteHouse\/status\/1357748496699252736?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 5, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The reporter then asked if the migrants were being tested for coronavirus, as U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported they haven\u2019t been able to test every migrant that attempts to cross.<\/p>\n<p>This came as Joe Biden revived the controversial \u2018catch and release\u2019 policy after signing a record number of executive orders since taking office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAre you suggesting they\u2019re letting people in across the border without testing them? Psaki asked. \u201cOr tell me a little bit more about what your question is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The reporter explained that migrants are being released because of the executive order that Biden signed.
