While he didn\u2019t fully blame Baldwin for the tragedy on the set of the movie \u201cRust,\u201d the \u201cFace\/Off\u201d alum did mention that it was imperative for actors to be trained in the handling of weapons.<\/p>\n<p>Cage made the remarks during a roundtable <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/tPXHSuJWOqk\">discussion<\/a> with actors Peter Dinklage, Andrew Garfield, Jonathan Majors, and Simon Rex for The Hollywood Reporter this week. The group moderator brought up the \u201cRust\u201d incident, which left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead and director Joel Souza injured.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to cast blame anywhere, but I do think, and I\u2019m not talking about anybody, but people don\u2019t like the word movie star. We want to be humble actors,\u201d Cage said in response to the prompt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut a movie star is a bit of a different kind of presentation because you need to know how to ride a horse,\u201d he continued. \u201cYou need to know how to fight. You\u2019re going to do fight scenes. You need to know how to ride a motorcycle. You need to know how to use a stick shift and drive sports cars, and you do need to know how to use a gun. You do. You need to take the time to know what the procedure is. Those are part of the job profiles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cLord of War\u201d star went on to stress the importance of stunt people for the most dangerous activities during filming.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, the stuntman and the movie star are two jobs that co-exist, they co-exist,\u201d he said. \u201cEvery stuntman needs to be a movie star and every movie star needs to be a stuntman. That\u2019s just part of the profile\u2026 And that\u2019s all I\u2019m going to say about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGame of Thrones\u201d star Peter Dinklage added his thoughts as well, explaining how he believed movies shouldn\u2019t have as many guns in them, period. He also described himself as \u201canti-gun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt can be avoided because look at what you can do with movies,\u201d the actor said. \u201cYou know that also calls into question, are there too many guns in movies?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cWe\u2019ve all held guns in movies, probably, and I always think about that being anti-gun myself, but the character isn\u2019t. That\u2019s a very complicated thing. But that made it very clear that there has to be change, like, now. One hundred percent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Baldwin has expressed his sympathy for the fatal incident but maintains that he was not ultimately at fault for the death of Hutchins.<\/p>\n<p>When asked, \u201cDo you feel guilt?\u201d by ABC News host George Stephanopoulos during an exclusive interview, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/baldwin-on-if-he-feels-guilt-for-killing-halyna-hutchins-no-someone-is-responsible-its-not-me\">Baldwin insisted<\/a> it was someone else to blame.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo. No,\u201d Baldwin replied. \u201cI feel that there is, I feel that someone is responsible for what happened and I can\u2019t say who that is, but I know it\u2019s not me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
