But to the shock of the music industry, fans stood by him and \u201cDangerous: The Double Album,\u201d which had been released only weeks before, continued to climb the charts. Now that the end-of-year tallies have come in, Billboard reported Wallen\u2019s record wrapped up the year with \u201c3.226 million equivalent album units earned in the U.S.\u201d Most of that total was derived from streaming downloads of the album\u2019s list of 30 songs.<\/p>\n<p>The outlet also noted that Dangerous is the first country release to top the chart since Taylor Swift\u2019s 2009 release, Fearless.<\/p>\n<p>As The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/morgan-wallen-issues-lengthy-thank-you-post-after-defeating-cancel-culture\">reported<\/a>, the 28-year-old Wallen issued a statement to fans on Instagram, thanking them for sticking by him.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI could write a book on 2021,\u201d he said in the post. \u201cAnd I probably will one day. But for now, I wanna say thank you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThank you to everyone who believed in me and continued to believe in me, even when it wasn\u2019t the popular thing to do,\u201d the country star continued. \u201cThank you to my family, my band, my friends, and my fans for having my back and sticking up for me when so many were coming for me. I hope my heart has shown through the noise.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI go into 2022 feeling inspired and free. Inspired to create from the heart and free to share those creations with you guys. Im so proud of how far we\u2019ve come together. I still feel like this is just the beginning.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cGod bless y\u2019all let\u2019s crush this year.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>While it seems clear from the numbers that people who like Wallen\u2019s music were simply unwilling to let the recording industry succeed in canceling him, some media outlets used his success as an opportunity to imply his fans were motivated by racism. In reporting on his top-selling status, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/01\/06\/1070879884\/morgan-wallen--adele--music-sales--2021-billboard\">NPR<\/a> editorialized, \u201cWallen\u2019s bad-boy behavior likely helped sales of his release, Dangerous: The Double Album.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But if that\u2019s the case, it wouldn\u2019t explain one final shock in Wallen\u2019s roller-coaster year, which finished with one final surprising success \u2014 after partnering with rapper Lil Durk on the song \u201cBroadway Girls,\u201d he is also now sitting at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/lil-durk-morgan-wallen-broadway-girls-number-1-rb-hip-hop-songs-chart\/\">number one<\/a> on the R&amp;B\/hip-hop chart, suggesting black fans, too, are willing to let him move on from his admitted mistake.<\/p>\n<p>In a Clubhouse interview with black comedian Druski, Wallen said he would welcome a chance to collaborate with other rappers like Moneybagg Yo and Kendrick Lamar.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
