They said that Schumer continues to use the anniversary of the January 6 protests as the basis for passing anti-voter legislation, such as the Freedom to Vote Act.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Heritage Foundation and Action leaders commended state leaders for enacting legislation to ensure the integrity of America\u2019s elections and combat election fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson and Roberts said, \u201cIn 2021, state lawmakers ushered in smart and transparent election integrity reforms, making it easy to vote and hard to cheat. This work should be commended, as voter integrity and trust in our elections are the bedrock of our American democracy. Instead, the liberal elite spent all of 2021 creating a false narrative of voter disenfranchisement and suppression as Democrat leaders and the media tried to convince Americans reforms such as voter ID were racist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a letter to his Democrat colleagues this week, Schumer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.democrats.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/Dear%20Colleague%201.3.22.pdf\">described<\/a> states\u2019 voter integrity bills as \u201canti-democratic\u201d:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Republican officials in states across the country have seized on the former president\u2019s Big Lie about widespread voter fraud to enact anti-democratic legislation and seize control of typically non-partisan election administration functions. While these actions all proceed under the guise of so-called \u201celection integrity\u201d, the true aim couldn\u2019t be more clear. They want to unwind the progress of our Union, restrict access to the ballot, silence the voices of millions of voters, and undermine free and fair elections. They wish to propagate the Big Lie perpetuated by the former president that our elections are not on the level.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"page\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>Make no mistake about it: this week Senate Democrats will make clear that what happened on January 6th and the one-sided, partisan actions being taken by Republican-led state legislatures across the country are directly linked, and we can and must take strong action to stop this anti- democratic march.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Heritage Action has <a href=\"https:\/\/saveourelections.com\/newsroom\/heritage-action-announces-1-million-initial-investment-to-secure-georgias-elections\">been<\/a> at the forefront of election integrity; the conservative grassroots organization announced in March 2021 a $1 million initial investment to strengthen Georgia\u2019s election laws and restore Georgians\u2019 confidence in its elections.<\/p>\n<p>The conservative organization subsequently released many television ad buys dispelling the leftist and establishment media myths about the election integrity bill, SB 202:<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>Heritage Action <a href=\"https:\/\/heritageaction.com\/blog\/myth-vs-fact-the-georgia-election-law\">released<\/a> a fact check on the common myths about the Georgia election law.<\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden and Schumer\u2019s distortions about the bill were even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2021\/03\/30\/biden-falsely-claims-new-georgia-law-ends-voting-hours-early\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">declared<\/a> false by the&nbsp;<em>Washington Post&nbsp;<\/em>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/factchecks\/2021\/mar\/26\/charles-schumer\/charles-schumer-misleads-georgia-voting-legislatio\/\">Politifact<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Anderson and Roberts said that Schumer\u2019s move to pass the anti-voter legislation by busting the filibuster would enhance Schumer\u2019s power.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cHowever, the American people did not buy into their lies, and Democrat leaders in Washington have now pivoted to the anniversary of January 6. Senator Schumer and his cronies are now using the events of last January as a means to accomplish their never-ending goal of permanent power,\u201d the Heritage leaders remarked. \u201cDisguised as a \u2018voting rights\u2019 bill, Schumer\u2019s anti-voter agenda is nothing more than an attempt to take power away from the American people and forever undermine the integrity of our elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Republican lawmakers such as Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) have warned that breaking the filibuster would diminish the constitutional role of the Senate.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Lee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/schumer-senate-to-vote-on-filibuster-change-on-voting-bill-2\/\">warned<\/a> that ending the filibuster would turn the Senate into a \u201cLord of the Flies\u201d-style institution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis proposed legislation will give Washington bureaucrats power over our election systems and throw out measures like voter ID in every state \u2014 a common-sense measure that is continually supported by <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/194741\/four-five-americans-support-voter-laws-early-voting.aspx\">over 80%<\/a> of the American people,\u201d the Heritage leaders added.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">They concluded in their statement, \u201cAmericans want voter integrity, and they know the Left\u2019s partisan narrative has nothing to do with democracy and everything to do with rigging the rules to keep Democrats in power to pass their agenda without our support.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><em>Sean Moran is a congressional reporter for Breitbart News.
