Further, in December, the U.S. death toll for the virus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/08\/coronavirus-deaths-in-joe-bidens-first-10-months-in-office-surpass-death-toll-under-trump\/\">surpassed<\/a> Trump\u2019s last 12 months in office, despite Biden being at the helm and the widespread availability of vaccines. Notably, during a presidential debate in October 2020, Biden asserted that \u201canyone who\u2019s&nbsp;responsible for that many deaths\u201d should \u201cnot remain as President of the United States of America.\u201d The death toll stood around 220,000 at that time.<\/p>\n<div class=\"google-auto-placed ap_container\">Trump continued, knocking Biden for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/03\/desantis-biden-administration-cornered-entire-market-lifesaving-coronavirus-treatment\/\">federalizing<\/a> the distribution of lifesaving coronavirus treatment \u2014 an issue Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has also brought to the forefront. Because of that, Trump continued, \u201cred states are getting the short end of the stick.\u201d<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIn my administration, we respected the role of Governors to take care of their own states, and they could request antibodies and therapeutics depending on what they needed. That\u2019s the way our Country is supposed to be run,\u201d he continued, blasting the Biden administration\u2019s outrageous attempts at overreach:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Now, there\u2019s talk by the Biden Administration again about closing schools and even vaccine mandates for school children. This is an outrage, and MAGA nation should rise up and oppose this egregious federal government overreach. The Democrats are so incredibly mandate happy\u2014there is discussion about a vaccine mandate for school kids this year in Detroit and other Democrat-run places.<\/p>\n<p>Our administration did what they said could not be done\u2014vaccines in record time.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"google-auto-placed ap_container\">\n<p>\u201cBut we never issued mandates, and I never would!\u201d Trump continued, asserting that \u201cpeople should be able to choose how they want to govern their own health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe federal government must be reined in and give the people back the freedom to decide whether they want to be vaccinated or not,\u201d Trump continued. \u201cJoe Biden said he would never issue mandates, but he did it anyway like so many other things.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"google-auto-placed ap_container\">Indeed, Biden has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/28\/five-coronavirus-promises-joe-biden-broke-in-2021\/\">broken<\/a> a number of promises related to the Chinese coronavirus, initially promoting just 100 days of masking and balking at the prospect of issuing a vaccine mandate, which he proudly did while&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/09\/09\/joe-biden-breaks-unity-pledge-in-angry-attack-on-unvaccinated-americans\/\">scolding<\/a> unvaccinated Americans in the process.<\/div>\n<div class=\"google-auto-placed ap_container\">\n<p>\u201cNo \u2014 I don\u2019t think it should be mandatory,\u201d Biden said on December 4, 2020. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t demand it to be mandatory.
