The police said Koechner told them he ran into a street sign, causing damage to his vehicle. Koechner allegedly failed a field sobriety test and blew a .12 upon being tested at the station, TMZ added.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Simi Valley Police Department public information officer Casey Nicholson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/anchorman-actor-david-koechner-arrested-001121902.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the media that officers corralled Koechner after he was seen in a damaged vehicle pointing the wrong way on the street.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Koechner, was driving into oncoming traffic (the wrong lane on the other side of the street) where the officer was coming,\u201d Nicholson said. \u201cOfficer passed him, conducted a U-turn and pulled him over a couple of blocks away,\u201d Nicholson said.<\/p>\n<p>Nicholson added that the actor showed \u201coutward symptomology of intoxication,\u201d and was arrested for DUI.<\/p>\n<p>Koechner is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on March 30.<\/p>\n<p>The former <i>Saturday Night Live<\/i> cast member is set to launch a stand-up comedy tour this month and is also seen in the sports drama <i>National Champions<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><i>Follow Warner Todd Huston on Facebook at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Warner.Todd.Huston\">facebook.com\/Warner.Todd.Huston<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anchorman star David Koechner spent New Year\u2019s Eve in a Ventura County jail cell after being arrested for drunk driving, according to a report.
