Andrew Cuomo has dodged criminal charges for his role in both of the notorious scandals that led to his resignation, law enforcement announced.<\/p>\n<p>The Manhattan District Attorney\u2019s office <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/cuomo-charged-covid-nursing-home-deaths-manhattan-da\/story?id=82055278\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said Monday<\/a> that it will not file criminal charges against Cuomo for <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/06\/andrew-cuomo-nursing-home-misled-the-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">misleading the public<\/a> about COVID-19 deaths in New York\u2019s nursery homes. On Tuesday, the Albany District Attorney\u2019s office announced that <a href=\"http:\/\/albanycountyda.com\/Media\/News\/22-01-04\/Statement_from_DA_David_Soares.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">it does not have enough evidence<\/a> to mount a criminal case against Cuomo for workplace abuse and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/10\/cuomo-announces-resignation-following-ag-sexual-harassment-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sexual harassment<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/09\/cuomo-accuser-first-interview-brittany-commisso\/?tpcc%3D=newsletter\"><strong>(RELATED: Cuomo Accuser Details Grope Attack Inside Executive Mansion In First Interview After Report)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we found the complainant in this case cooperative and credible, after review of all the available evidence we have concluded that we cannot meet our burden at trial,\u201d Albany DA David Soares wrote Tuesday. \u201cAs such we have notified the Court that we are declining to prosecute this matter and requesting the charges filed by the Albany County Sheriff be dismissed.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7184851\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7184851\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>NEW YORK, NEW YORK \u2013 MARCH 25: People who\u2019ve lost loved ones due to Covid-19 while they were in New York nursing homes attend a protest and vigil on March 25, 2021 in New York City. (Photo by Spencer Platt\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Cuomo enjoyed widespread praise from the media for the opening months of the pandemic, but the tone began to sour when the Daily Caller News Foundation first&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/05\/15\/new-york-coronavirus-reporting-nursing-home-deaths-undercounting\/\">reported<\/a> in May 2020 that his office knowingly undercounted COVID-19 nursing home deaths. The revelation came months after he ordered the state\u2019s nursing homes to accept COVID-19 patients. Cuomo\u2019s top aide, Melissa DeRosa, later&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/02\/16\/dems-accuse-cuomo-of-obstruction-of-justice\/\">admitted<\/a>&nbsp;to the New York General Assembly that Cuomo\u2019s office feared a federal investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo\u2019s governorship survived the nursing home scandal, however, and it wasn\u2019t until several former staffers accused him of sexual harassment and workplace abuse that he was <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/10\/cuomo-announces-resignation-following-ag-sexual-harassment-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">forced to resign<\/a> in August. In a final speech announcing his resignation, Cuomo argued that he had done nothing wrong, and was only the victim of changing social standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<span id=\"subtitle882\" class=\"subtitle processed selfragment\" data-id=\"882\" data-start=\"3166270\" data-end=\"3169570\">I\u2019ve never crossed the line with anyone.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"subtitle883\" class=\"subtitle processed\" data-id=\"883\" data-start=\"3171160\" data-end=\"3175870\">But, I didn\u2019t realize the extent to<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"subtitle884\" class=\"subtitle processed\" data-id=\"884\" data-start=\"3175870\" data-end=\"3179230\">which the line has been redrawn.<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"subtitle885\" class=\"subtitle processed\" data-id=\"885\" data-start=\"3180670\" data-end=\"3185320\">There are generational and cultural shifts that<\/span>&nbsp;<span id=\"subtitle886\" class=\"subtitle processed\" data-id=\"886\" data-start=\"3185320\" data-end=\"3188199\">I just didn\u2019t fully appreciate,\u201d Cuomo said at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The scandals also forced Cuomo <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/14\/andrew-cuomo-book-profit-5-million-jcope-letitia-james\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">to give up<\/a> the $5 million in profits he garnered from his book on the COVID-19 pandemic, which he wrote and published even as the disease ravaged New York and the entire country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Disgraced former Democratic New York Gov.
