Aguilar will move to theGroup, a strategy and communications firm, to&nbsp;advise clients on \u201cnavigating the intricacies of the Democratic Caucus and stakeholder organizations,\u201d Punchbowl News&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/email.punchbowl.news\/t\/ViewEmail\/t\/FD5EA98DDD62EAD62540EF23F30FEDED\/5F277906F35AC34DA29558A201773426?alternativeLink=False\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Aguilar\u2019s exit could be a clue to Pelosi\u2019s decision. Often, staff and longtime aides leaving an elected officeholder are a sign that the member will be retiring. Aguilar has not only been with Pelosi for nearly a decade; he was the&nbsp;executive director of her&nbsp;reelection campaign.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Additionally, while Pelosi and her staff have not confirmed any of the reports of her potential retirement from Congress,&nbsp;the turnover rate in her office&nbsp;skyrocketed last year,&nbsp;Politico Playbook <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/newsletters\/playbook\/2022\/01\/04\/the-election-reform-idea-gaining-currency-on-the-right-495582?nname=playbook&amp;nid=0000014f-1646-d88f-a1cf-5f46b7bd0000&amp;nrid=0000014e-f117-dd93-ad7f-f917cd960000&amp;nlid=630318\">reported<\/a>. Pelosi \u201chas seen a big exodus from her office the past year as expectations grow that she will leave Congress after this term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aguilar\u2019s exit also pushed the speaker into the&nbsp;90th percentile for highest House staff turnover, according to LegiStorm data. The data showed that while Pelosi\u2019s office has been \u201crelatively stable over the years,\u201d the number of staffers leaving Pelosi\u2019s office rose dramatically last year.<\/p>\n<p>LegiStorm has kept a&nbsp;\u201cturnover index\u201d to track the churn rate, including salaries,&nbsp;of members\u2019 offices.&nbsp;\u201cTurnover of 0.0 indicates no turnover during a time period, while a 0.5 turnover index indicates that half of the office, weighted by salary, has turned over per year,\u201d the website stated.&nbsp;While ranked 42 of 439 House offices, Pelosi\u2019s office has her at .69 on the&nbsp;turnover index, which is almost double the average (.38 turnover) of all of the offices last year, according to&nbsp;Playbook.<\/p>\n<p>Playbook reported that the speaker\u2019s office downplayed the turnover stats, stating, \u201cDifferent factors always come into play when it comes to turnover.\u201d The coronavirus pandemic and last year\u2019s January 6 incident were cited as reasons for staff to leave. However, Pelosi\u2019s office still showed nearly double the number of exits as all other offices.<\/p>\n<p>So far, 24 House Democrats have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/03\/pelosi-majority-crumbles-longtime-democrat-rep-bobby-rush-not-seek-reelection\/\">announced<\/a> they plan to leave the House after their current terms, whether it be to retire from the public eye or run for a different office.<\/p>\n<p><i>Jacob Bliss is a reporter for Breitbart News.
