In the original, Affleck\u2019s t-shirt is unadorned.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Social media users are sharing an image of Affleck wearing a t-shirt reading, \u201cLosers in 1865, Losers in 1945, Losers in 2020.\u201d The t-shirt includes images of the Confederate flag, the Nazi flag and the \u201cMake America Great Again\u201d (MAGA) hat, a known symbol of Trump supporters.<\/p>\n<p>Through a reverse image search, however, Check Your Fact discovered the photo has been altered. The original was featured in a 2015 article from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/news\/170666_ben_affleck_has_officially_ditches_his_wedding_ring_la?amp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Entertainment Tonight Online<\/a> and shows Affleck wearing an unadorned, grey t-shirt. The same, unaltered image of Affleck can be found in articles published by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/3am\/celebrity-news\/ben-affleck-pictured-without-wedding-6321124\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mirror<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/entertainment\/gossip\/ben-affleck-jennifer-garner-smiles-outing-article-1.2348534\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Daily News<\/a>.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/09\/17\/fact-check-george-clooney-shirt-losers-trump-supporters-nazis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Image Show George Clooney Wearing A T-Shirt Calling Trump Supporters \u2018Losers\u2019?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While there is no evidence Affleck wore such a t-shirt, he has been critical of Trump in the past. In 2016, he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/style\/2016\/10\/ben-affleck-donald-trump-locker-room-talk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vanity Fair<\/a> that he did not think Trump would make a positive difference in the world as president. He also publicly feuded with the former president in 2017 after Trump called actress Meryl Streep overrated, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonmagazine.com\/arts-entertainment\/2017\/01\/10\/ben-affleck-meryl-streep-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boston Magazine<\/a> reported. Affleck has donated to Democrats in the past, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2019\/07\/16\/politics\/2020-democrats-second-quarter-2019-celebrity-donors\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/hollywood-stars-help-hillary-clinton-809061\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time the t-shirt has been photoshopped onto celebrities. Check Your Fact has previously debunked viral images that purportedly showed actors <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/11\/10\/fact-check-ryan-reynolds-shirt-trump-supporters-losers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Reynolds<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/09\/17\/fact-check-george-clooney-shirt-losers-trump-supporters-nazis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">George Clooney<\/a> wearing the same shirt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An image\u00a0shared on Facebook purportedly shows actor Ben Affleck wearing a t-shirt calling supporters of former President Donald Trump \u201closers.\u201dVerdict: False The image has been altered.
