These officers include Madison \u201cSkip\u201d Nicholson,&nbsp;Antonio Antoine Valentine,&nbsp;Richard Houston II,&nbsp;Keona Holley,&nbsp;Sean Riley, and&nbsp;Marlene Rittmanic.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Holley, a mother of four children, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/law-and-order\/2021\/12\/24\/baltimore-police-officer-keona-holley-dies-a-week-after-being-shot\/\">died the day<\/a> before Christmas Eve after she was ambushed by a shooter while she sat in her police car. Riley was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/29\/illinois-sheriffs-deputy-shot-killed-responding-motorist-assist-call\/\">shot and killed<\/a> on December 29 after responding to a \u201cmotorist assist\u201d call.<\/p>\n<p>Rittmanic, 49-years-old, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/crime\/2022\/01\/01\/two-suspects-arrested-allegedly-killing-illinois-police-sergeant-wounding-partner\/\">was killed<\/a> on December 30 when she and her partner responded to a call about unattended dogs in a vehicle sitting in the parking lot of a motel. Two suspects are now in custody for her murder.<\/p>\n<p>Nicholson was killed in gunfire in Wilcox County, Alabama, on December 1, while Houston was shot and killed in Mesquite, Texas on December 3. Valentine was killed on December 1 in St. Louis County, Missouri, in the midst of a vehicle pursuit.<\/p>\n<p>In a year-end report, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/files.fop.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/report-20211201-Officers-Shot-Killed-Report.pdf\">reveals<\/a> that 314 police officers have been shot from January 1, 2021 to December 1, 2021. One hundred and nineteen of those shootings occurred in the midst of 95 separate ambush-style attacks on officers, resulting in 28 of the total gunfire deaths.<\/p>\n<p>Ambush attacks on officers increased nearly 130 percent since 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>John Binder is a reporter for Breitbart News.
