The two were discussing a poll which showed that one-third of Americans felt violence against the government was \u201cjustified.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, this is purely in the Republican camp. The reality is, is even the poll suggested the Democrats agree that this was not about democracy. This is about ruining democracy, not protecting it,\u201d Simpson argued.<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2017\/07\/12\/anti-trump-hysteria-is-destroying-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Anti-Trump Hysteria Is Destroying America)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwenty-five percent of Democrats said violence was acceptable in that poll,\u201d ABC Analyst Sarah Isgur countered. \u201cIn 2017, a third of Hillary Clinton voters said Donald Trump was not legitimately elected. You\u2019re saying this is unprecedented?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stephanopoulos interjected that Hillary Clinton supporters \u201cdid not take the same action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Police arrested <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2017\/01\/22\/over-200-inauguration-day-protesters-face-felony-rioting-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">more than 200 rioters<\/a> in Washington, D.C., in January 2017 as riots ensued immediately after President Trump\u2019s swearing in ceremony. Four businesses underwent \u201csignificant damage\u201d due to vandalism, six police officers sustained minor injuries, and one limousine was torched on Inauguration Day, NBC News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/storyline\/inauguration-2017\/washington-faces-more-anti-trump-protests-after-day-rage-n709946\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a> at the time. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2017\/01\/20\/watch-anti-trump-rioters-clash-with-police-destroy-property\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Watch Anti-Trump Rioters Clash With Police, Destroy Property)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anti-Trump protests also erupted in New York, Seattle, Dallas, Chicago and Portland, resulting in at least one man being shot in Seattle, CNN <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/01\/19\/politics\/trump-inauguration-protests-womens-march\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>. Liberal groups praised the work of protesters, many of whom traveled from around the country to rail against Trump\u2019s \u201cillegitimate\u201d election, inspiring the Women\u2019s March later that month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\" data-uri=\"archive.cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/paragraph_36B801E8-7884-5E03-AC6C-BEDAE524F784@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-analytics-observe=\"off\">What had begun as a Facebook post just after Trump\u2019s election, the Women\u2019s March, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/01\/21\/us\/womens-march.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according to<\/a> the New York Times, was the start of what organizers hoped would be a sustained campaign of protest in Trump\u2019s America. It was at the Women\u2019s March in Washington, D.C. where Madonna <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2017\/01\/23\/madonna-said-she-thought-of-blowing-up-the-white-house-is-that-illegal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> a crowd of thousands that she had \u201cthought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\" data-uri=\"archive.cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/paragraph_36B801E8-7884-5E03-AC6C-BEDAE524F784@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-analytics-observe=\"off\">Despite its violent and divisive rhetoric, many Democratic leaders and politicians attended the march, including Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren who told the crowd,\u201cWe can whimper, we can whine or we can fight back. Me, I\u2019m here to fight back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"archive.cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/paragraph_36B801E8-7884-5E03-AC6C-BEDAE524F784@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-analytics-observe=\"off\">Hillary Clinton even expressed her support for the march in a tweet.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Thanks for standing, speaking &amp; marching for our values <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/womensmarch?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@womensmarch<\/a>. I truly believe we\u2019re always Stronger Together.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HillaryClinton\/status\/822822900239581184?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 21, 2017<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very focused on January 6,\u201d Isgur stated. \u201cAgain, I am all for every prosecution that\u2019s going on. There are 700 indictments out there. That is good. But when I look forward to 2024, I\u2019m deeply concerned by these numbers because what it says to me is that people on both sides are not ready to accept the results of the next election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Stephanopoulos asked her to clarify if she indeed meant both sides, Isgur maintained that she \u201cabsolutely\u201d believed it to be the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou look back at 2017, look at the ABC poll on whether Trump was legitimately elected. It was about six to eight points off of this one right now, not that far off. Hillary Clinton asked in 2017, was Trump legitimately elected, point blank. She did not say yes. She said she had questions,\u201d Isgur explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou think Democrats, if Donald Trump runs again, if Donald Trump wins in 2024, you think Democrats are going to think he was legitimately elected?
