As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cnbc-airs-shocking-footage-of-florida-residents-not-wearing-masks-florida-is-doing-better-than-many-mask-mandated-states\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reports:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>CNBC host Shepard Smith was aghast to see footage taken inside a supermarket in Naples, Florida, showing most employees and customers not wearing face masks even though we\u2019re still in the midst of a pandemic.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe all fantasize about a time when we won\u2019t have to wear the masks anymore,\u201d Smith began the segment, which aired on Wednesday. \u201cIt\u2019s not now, but some at a supermarket in Florida appear to have decided that the time is now.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Footage taken by NBC\u2019s Sam Brock then played, showing customers at the checkout lanes at a grocery store not wearing masks. The employees largely weren\u2019t wearing masks either. The footage was shown with the same tone and level of shock that is usually reserved for video of the aftermath from natural disasters.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cLook at this,\u201d Smith said, \u201cthis was the scene at Oakes Farms Seed to Table Market in Naples today. NBC\u2019s Sam Brock took this video, which went viral. It looks like it was taken pre-pandemic, right? Most customers and employees not wearing masks at all (emphasis original).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Medical experts have shifted advice on masking throughout the pandemic. Last year, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, admitted that experts initially \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/dr-fauci-admits-that-public-health-experts-initially-downplayed-face-masks-over-concerns-about-supply\">downplayed<\/a>\u201d the effectiveness of masks in order to discourage Americans from buying them before medical staff.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Fauci said that the CDC may <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fauci-says-possible-cdc-will-recommend-americans-wear-two-masks\">recommend<\/a> that people wear two masks instead of one. The government is currently conducting tests to determine whether double-masking would improve the effectiveness of masks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, in discussions with my CDC colleagues yesterday, we were talking about how the CDC is looking at doing a study of seeing whether or not two masks are better than one.
