Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is wasting no time using her new powers as part of the Finance Committee to implement a fiscal policy she has been promising progressives for years.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It\u2019s time for a wealth tax in America.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how it works: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kK6zNRjKn3\">pic.twitter.com\/kK6zNRjKn3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ewarren\/status\/1356975505958985729?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 3, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In an interview on Wednesday, former White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said raising taxes during an economic downturn would have calamitous affects on a slowly recovering economy.<\/p>\n<p>The most recent report from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/\">Bureau of Labor Statistics<\/a> showed unemployment has finally stabilized at 6.7 percent and the number of people who are unemployed remained unchanged at just over 10 million.<\/p>\n<p>However, Warren has promised her proposed wealth tax won\u2019t affect \u201cthe little guy.\u201d She has argued that no one needs a billion dollars. The Democrat has invigorated her base by spinning tales of taking away yachts and sports cars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd all I\u2019m saying is for the \u2018bazillionaires\u2019 \u2014 how about we include not just the real estate, but also the stock portfolio, the diamonds, the Rembrandt and the yacht?\u201d she asked hypothetically.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, should her wealth tax go through, Warren won\u2019t be repossessing fast cars and mega mansions. Instead, she\u2019ll be starting a domino affect that will hit those that have been hurt the most. The tax would target people with roughly $50 million in assets and would rise for people with more than a billion dollars.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/fee.org\/\">Foundation for Economic Education<\/a>, the wealth of the people Warren is gunning for is made up mostly of business assets or investments, which Kudlow\u2019 called \u201cthe working person\u2019s best friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Over his 30 in the field of economics, Kudlow has referred to himself as a \u201cReagan supply-sider.\u201d He naturally pointed out that by imposing policies that will target investments, the effect on all Americans will be severe.<\/p>\n<p>With investments shrinking, businesses will struggle and will have to make cuts in order to stay operational either by paying fewer people or by paying everyone less. However, Warren knows this.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou say the economy is going to recover,\u201d she stated. \u201cIt\u2019s going to take jobs in order for that to happen, so what I want to know is are you going to require companies that received money from this half a trillion dollar slush fund to have to keep people on payroll?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Warren\u2019s proposal, which is what she calls the \u201cultra-millionaire tax,\u201d is eerily similar to the same one she proposed during the election before the American economy took one of the hardest hits since the Great Depression.<\/p>\n<p>Kudlow wasn\u2019t surprised by her proposal, however, he sent a warning in his finishing statement. \u201cThe far left loves this stuff\u2026class warfare and all the rest of it,\u201d he stated. \u201cGuess what?
