Version: 4.0.47--><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/People-stuck-on-tram-Sandia-Peak-Tramway-facebook-640x335-1.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">Several people were reportedly stuck on the Sandia Peak Tramway in Albuquerque, New Mexico, because of icy weather conditions on Friday, according to KRQE.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccording to General Manager Michael Donovan, moisture and winds caused icing to occur on the tramline, causing two tram cars to become stuck near Tower 2 around 10 p.m. Friday,\u201d the outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.krqe.com\/news\/albuquerque-metro\/multiple-people-trapped-in-sandia-peak-tram-car-overnight\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/michael-donovan-612923145\/\">Donovan<\/a> also noted that between the two cars, there were approximately 21 individuals, including workers from the Tram, and the Ten 3 restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>The tram cars had provisions, such as food, water, and emergency heating blankets.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, rider Colleen Elvidge shared pictures from a tram car early Saturday, telling followers a rescue was \u201chappening soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The photos on what appeared to be Elvidge\u2019s social media profile <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/colleenmelvidge\/posts\/4842282925825196\">showed<\/a> people huddled together, some lying on the floor to rest:<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/colleenmelvidge\/posts\/4842282925825196\" data-width=\"640\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/100001306105928\/posts\/4842282925825196\/\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\">\n<p>Been stuck in Tram since 9p\u2026.rescue happening soon.  \ud83d\ude2b<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/health\/2022\/01\/01\/people-stuck-tram-cars-icy-weather-new-mexico\/#\" role=\"button\">Colleen Elvidge<\/a> on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/100001306105928\/posts\/4842282925825196\/\">Saturday, January 1, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cDonovan says as weather conditions improve, they hope to perform evacuations by early afternoon,\u201d the KRQE report said.<br \/>Meanwhile, emergency crews with the Bernalillo County Sheriff\u2019s Office were at the scene and helicopter crews were expected to arrive as the conditions changed.<\/p>\n<p>Donovan told the outlet those in the tram cars are safe and have been undergoing routine health checks.<\/p>\n<p>The final winter storm of 2021 was expected to drop several inches of snow on areas of New Mexico, KOAT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.koat.com\/article\/new-mexico-nye-winter-weather\/38645893\">reported<\/a> Friday:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The southern part of the state is already seeing snow and rain Friday, with a few inches in Cloudcroft and Ski Apache.&nbsp;Winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories are already in effect for the southern high terrain. Those will expire by 5 p.m. Saturday.&nbsp;Western and northern New Mexico will see winter storm warnings in effect from noon Friday until the same time Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cBack in August 2020, riders were stuck in each tram car due to a mechanical issue. They were stuck for nearly four hours.
