He was incubated the following day and remains on the device over a week later.<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p><span> \u201cNow we\u2019re just kind of here on the ventilator from RSV, rhinovirus, and the croup,\u201d Halbert told WYMT.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>The ordeal has triggered some traumatic memories for Halbert and Grayson\u2019s father, Trevor Cook.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cIt brings back a lot of memories,\u201d she told WYMT. \u201cWe had two boys with dwarfism. The first one passed away September 6, 2018. He had a type of dwarfism that wasn\u2019t able to make it at birth. He took four breaths with the doctors and then passed away.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Just two years later, on October 8, 2020, the couple experienced immeasurable heartbreak yet again as their second son was stillborn. Halbert, a mother to two older daughters, endured a house fire and flood following the traumatic losses, WYMT reports. After immense struggle and heartache, she learned she was pregnant with Grayson.<\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cLosing the two boys and then seeing him on the ventilator,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI sometimes feel like, \u2018What did I do to get this?\u2019 But then I feel like God wouldn\u2019t put me through it if I couldn\u2019t do it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>She spent Christmas by her son\u2019s bedside and has been unable to work or spend much time with family while looking after him.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p><span> \u201cI had only been back to work two weeks from maternity leave,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m here, so I can\u2019t work.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She took to Facebook to ask for prayers from friends and family, which caught the eye of a complete stranger, Pastor Ray Davis.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>\u201cHe didn\u2019t know me from Adam and Eve. He didn\u2019t know me, you know, personally or anything like that,\u201d she told WYMT. \u201cSo when he reached out to me, I kind of realized my story had touched a lot of people\u2019s hearts.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Davis is a pastor at First Assembly of God in Martin.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI pastor this church, but I believe that\u2019s the purpose of the Church. It doesn\u2019t matter whether I know them or not. To reach out and show that we are the Church,\u201d Davis told WYMT<\/span><span>. \u201cWe\u2019re the hands and feet to do and go and to make a difference in somebody\u2019s life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/medical-expenses-for-grayson-halbert?member=16278115&amp;sharetype=teams&amp;utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&amp;utm_medium=copy_link&amp;utm_source=customer\">established<\/a> a Go Fund Me on December 28 to benefit Brianna and her family. He shared the page on his Facebook and, thus far, the Go Fund Me has raised $2,200 of the $10,000 goal.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cTo help somebody like this, in a moment that you know they don\u2019t have any answers? Man, to see the outpouring like this is just it\u2019s it\u2019s fantastic,\u201d he told WYMT.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Halbert told WYMT that her son has displayed signs of improvement and said she feels blessed over his progress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIf you would have seen him a couple days ago? I mean, I literally felt like I was losing another child,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> On December 28, Grayson had enough strength to grab onto his mother\u2019s finger, according to Halbert\u2019s Facebook.&nbsp;<\/span><span>She and her family hope that doctors can soon begin to slowly take Grayson off of the incubator.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Davis explained we should never underestimate the power of prayer.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cYou know, oftentimes, God answers prayers through people,\u201d he told WYMT.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Kentucky pastor is calling on his community to assist the family of a two-month-old infant who remains hospitalized with rhinovirus (RSV) and croup.
