I would not be surprised if it\u2019s 1,000,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2021\/12\/31\/marshall-fire-boulder-county-friday\/\">said<\/a> Boulder County Sheriff Joe Pelle during a press conference Friday morning per the <em>Denver Post<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Pelle previously estimated 370 homes were destroyed in Superior, while another 210 may have been lost in Old Town Superior, Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/environment\/2021\/12\/31\/pictures-wildfires-scorch-colorado-burning-hundreds-of-homes-as-tens-of-thousands-evacuated\/\">reported<\/a>. The fire <a href=\"https:\/\/coloradosun.com\/2021\/12\/30\/boulder-grass-fire-evacuations\/\">tore<\/a> through 1,600 acres and it remains to be seen how many dwellings were scorched in \u201cLouisville&nbsp;and unincorporated areas of Boulder County,\u201d according to the <em>Colorado Sun<\/em>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Some 1,778 homes were situated in the burn area with an estimated collective value of&nbsp;$825 million, the <em>Denver Post&nbsp;<\/em>reported. This was a horrific event.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Pelle\u2019s estimates suggest the wildfires were the most severe in state history in terms of damage. KUSA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.9news.com\/article\/news\/local\/wildfire\/boulder-county-fire-most-destructive-in-state-history\/73-b1ffd46e-abff-46aa-acfe-37cbec423928\">reported<\/a> the estimated damage would surpass the 2013 Black Forest fire in El Paso County, which destroyed 498 homes, as the most destructive fire property-wise that Colorado has ever seen.<\/p>\n<p>KDVR also <a href=\"https:\/\/kdvr.com\/news\/local\/boulder-fire-superior-louisville-destruction\/\">reported<\/a> the blaze may be the most destructive in terms of homes lost in state history.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>As of Friday morning, no fatalities were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox6now.com\/news\/colorado-wildfires-at-least-580-homes-destroyed-34k-evacuated\">reported<\/a>, and no one was reported missing, according to Fox 6, but Pelle says there may be casualties when all is said and done.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut given the ferocity and scope of this fire, it would not surprise me if we find casualties,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>At least one first responder and five other individuals were injured.<\/p>\n<p>Roughly 34,000 residents in Louisville and Superior were ordered to evacuate, Breitbart News reported.&nbsp;Residents outside of Boulder County, including those who live in parts of Broomfield, were told to evacuate as well, per CBS Denver.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udd25FIRE EVACUATIONS\ud83d\udd25<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLeave now!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emergency responders are evacuating towns of Superior and Louisville, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Colorado?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Colorado<\/a> as thousands of people are rushing to evacuate<\/p>\n<p>Two large grass fires have burned properties and are threatening more<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBSDenver?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@CBSDenver<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBSNews?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@CBSNews<\/a><\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9aqj9ZYzg6\">pic.twitter.com\/9aqj9ZYzg6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dillon Thomas (@DillonMThomas) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DillonMThomas\/status\/1476667652542119938?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 30, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Evacuation and pre-evacuations for areas outside of Boulder County were lifted overnight, the <em>Denver Post<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Superior\u2019s evacuation order was still in place as of 6:47 a.m. local time Friday.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Town of Superior remains in evacuation status. The area set a record for consecutive days without snowfall before a small storm hit the greater Denver area on December 10.
