It\u2019s tradition.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><em>But things are different this year in college football. Coaches have been receiving some non-traditional baths after <a class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/ncaaf\/2021\/12\/30\/college-bowls-whats-worth-watching-new-years-eve-day\/9050356002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\">bowl games<\/a>. <a class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/espn\/status\/1476376054415736837\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|inline click|${u}\">Cheez-Its<\/a>. French Fries. And now, mayonnaise.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><em>South Carolina coach Shane Beamer received a mayonnaise bath \u2014 4\u00bd gallons of mayonnaise, to be exact \u2014 after his Gamecocks beat North Carolina 38-21 in the Duke\u2019s Mayo Bowl at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cHonestly, I\u2019m thinking, \u2018Oh my God, I have to go do this mayo bath now,&#8217;\u201d Beamer said following the victory against the Tar Heels.<\/p>\n<p>All in good fun. Well, not to Dodd.<\/p>\n<p>The CBS journo took to Twitter to seriously mock the athletes enjoying their victory in unconventional, and kind of gross fashion.&nbsp;\u201cMy God, we\u2019ve reached the point where hyping a condiment being poured on an adult male passes for programming,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dennisdoddcbs\/status\/1476592509333774339\">posted<\/a> to Twitter. \u201cWhen we have the discussion about bowl relevance, I\u2019ll start right here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beamer did not hesitate to blast Dodd, and he didn\u2019t hold back. Not only did the coach rip the journalist for being joyless, but took a swing at Dodd\u2019s poor record of gauging Beamer\u2019s team success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat\u2019s it like being so miserable all the time?
