Nunes. Nunes&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/06\/rep-devin-nunes-will-retire-from-congress-to-join-trump-social-media-company\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;his retirement from Congress earlier in the month to serve as CEO of Trump Media &amp; Technology Group, former President Donald Trump\u2019s social media company.<\/p>\n<p>Nunes applauded Turner\u2019s appointment as ranking member, highlighting his work on the committee to combat the Democrats\u2019 Russia collusion narrative.<\/p>\n<p>Nunes said in a&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.republicanleader.gov\/leader-mccarthy-appoints-congressman-michael-turner-as-ranking-member-of-hpsci\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>For many years, Mike has been an extremely valuable fighter for House Intelligence Committee Republicans. However, new&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/587724-cook-report-projects-gop-as-clear-favorites-to-win-house-majority\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a>&nbsp;indicate Republicans are favored to win control of the U.S. House of Representatives, likely making Turner the next committee chairman.<\/p>\n<p>The House Intelligence Committee oversees the country\u2019s intelligence agencies. The committee led the inquiry into the allegations that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election.
