Version: 4.0.47--><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-108519644-e1640875136802-640x335-1.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">New car models sold in the EU from mid-2022 will be required by law to record driving data that can be viewed in the event of an accident.<\/p>\n<p>New car models, as well as any other road vehicle, sold in the EU from mid-2022 will be required to record technical data, such as the direction of the steering wheel and vehicle speed, so that it can be used in the event of a crash.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The new rule will coincide with the forced introduction of Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) systems for new vehicle models next year.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/auto\/intelligent-speed-assistance-isa-in-autos-ab-mitte-2022-big-brother-an-bord-a-3bd75833-d83f-4690-a19b-99b7abb1293d\">report<\/a> by&nbsp;<em>Der Spiegel<\/em>, a so-called \u201cEvent Data Recorder\u201d \u2014 also referred to as a \u201cblack box\u201d, similar to those already found in aircraft \u2014 will possibly enable police to understand if an accident was caused by driver error, depending on the incident.<\/p>\n<p>However, an AFP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news18.com\/news\/auto\/black-boxes-to-be-mandatory-for-cars-in-europe-from-2022-heres-what-they-will-record-3784958.html\">report<\/a> claims that, although law enforcement will indeed have access in the event of an accident, insurance companies will not be permitted access to any data recorded.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>All data gathered by black boxes will also be anonymised, and \u2014 unlike a black box on an aircraft \u2014 conversations going on in the car will not be recorded by the device.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, newly mandatory ISA systems, which will warn drivers should they breach the speed limit, are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/auto\/intelligent-speed-assistance-isa-in-autos-ab-mitte-2022-big-brother-an-bord-a-3bd75833-d83f-4690-a19b-99b7abb1293d\">expected<\/a> to prevent up to 25,000 deaths and over 100,000 injuries every year due to accidents.<\/p>\n<p>However, the EU has <a href=\"https:\/\/road-safety-charter.ec.europa.eu\/resources-knowledge\/media-and-press\/intelligent-speed-assistance-isa-set-become-mandatory-across_en\">clarified<\/a> on the Commission\u2019s official website that any implemented system must not be able to actually prevent a driver from breaking the speed limit.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Spain to Splash European Taxpayer\u2019s Cash to Jumpstart Electric Car Industry <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Dc8cuQ7o5e\">https:\/\/t.co\/Dc8cuQ7o5e<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1405093037907202050?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 16, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A large part of the European Union\u2019s work has been placing itself into the lives of Europeans by producing legislation and imposing its vision on industries.
