You\u2019re a very popular politician,\u201d Bolling told Palin. \u201cDo you have aspirations to get back into elected office, or anything more in politics? What\u2019s next for Sarah Palin?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would love to. I would never say never,\u201d Palin replied without hesitation. \u201cI feel like there are still some offerings that I have in terms of a servant\u2019s heart. I want to serve. I want to help the people. And I think I have a heck of a lot of common sense, and that\u2019s what we need today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201cI\u2019m not so obsessively partisan that I\u2019d let that get in the way of just doing what\u2019s right for the people. Palin\u2019s views are well to the right of Murkowski, who has held the Senate seat since she was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/story\/murkowski-senate-rival-charges-nepotism\">appointed by her father<\/a>, then-Governor Frank Murkowski (R), in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>Palin has clashed with the younger Murkowski in 2018, when she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/sarah-palin-threatens-to-primary-lisa-murkowski-over-scotus-vote-i-can-see-2022-from-my-house\">voted against advancing<\/a> the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in the Senate Judiciary Committee, then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2018\/10\/06\/us\/politics\/kavanaugh-live-vote-senate-confirmation.html\">voted \u201cpresent<\/a>\u201d on his final confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>Before the 2020 election, Murkowski had argued against the appointment of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett to the High Court, arguing the next president should make the coveted appointment.<\/p>\n<p>Each time, Palin responded with the same, self-deprecating rejoinder: \u201cI can see 2022 from my house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hey <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lisamurkowski?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@LisaMurkowski<\/a> \u2013 I can see 2022 from my house\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sarah Palin (@SarahPalinUSA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SarahPalinUSA\/status\/1048288254422728704?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 5, 2018<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Senator Murkowski faces an uphill climb in her bid to win her fourth term in the Senate: The Alaska state Republican Party has <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/562410-alaska-gop-endorse-murkowski-primary-challenger\">endorsed<\/a> her primary challenger, Kelly Tshibaka. Former President Donald Trump has also announced that, while he has conferred his \u201ccomplete and total\u201d endorsement upon Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy (R), he would render it \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/trump-roils-alaska-gop-as-price-of-endorsement-climbs\">null and void<\/a>\u201d if Dunleavy endorses Murkowski, who voted to convict the president during his impeachment vote. Murkowski, who lost the 2010 primary to Tea Party candidate Joe Miller, waged a re-election campaign as a write-in candidate. She currently attracts a minority of Republican votes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2021\/11\/16\/lisa-murkowski-is-facing-her-toughest-election-yet-heres-how-she-might-win\/\">according<\/a> to The Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>Palin has a long and contentious history with more liberal elements of her own party. In October, Meghan McCain discussed the negative treatment members of her father\u2019s campaign inflicted on Palin, singling out current MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace. As this author <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/gop-treated-sarah-palin-really-horribly-set-her-up-for-failure-meghan-mccain\">reported<\/a> at The Daily Wire, McCain said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI have a whole new lens of viewing how Sarah Palin was treated,\u201d said the younger McCain during an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News on Tuesday night.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe people working for my father\u2019s campaign really, in my opinion, treated her really horribly \u2014 set her up for failure,\u201d she said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bolling mentioned McCain during the interview as he focused on the media\u2019s biased coverage of President Joe Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/whats-in-joe-bidens-build-back-better-act\">Build Back Better act<\/a>, which is currently stalled in the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou were vice presidential candidate with John McCain. They called John McCain a maverick \u2026 when he broke with the party,\u201d said Bolling. \u201cWhen Joe Manchin did it recently, he\u2019s being called everything in the book \u2026 a traitor, a killer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Palin defended Manchin, whom she called \u201ca good man.\u201d She noted that she and Manchin advocated for greater domestic oil, natural gas, and coal exploration as they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poweronline.com\/doc\/governors-to-discuss-nations-energy-future-0001\">worked together<\/a> on the natural resources committee of the National Governor\u2019s Association. Manchin was, at the time, governor of West Virginia.
