Singer Bebe Rexha has been an outspoken advocate for \u201cnormalizing\u201d curvier figures, but the 32-year-old star recently shared some less-than-positive feelings about her self-image and how she was struggling with weight gain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it is the holidays and I know we\u2019re all supposed to be, like, merry and like, \u2018Yay, it\u2019s the holidays,\u2019 which I am \u2026 ish,\u201d Rexha said in a video <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/12\/28\/bebe-rexha-says-shes-the-heaviest-shes-ever-been\/\">posted<\/a> to TikTok Monday. \u201cI think I am the heaviest I have ever been. I weighed myself just now and I don\u2019t feel comfortable sharing the weight \u2019cause I feel embarrassed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cSay My Name\u201d singer became a little choked up as she continued, saying, \u201cI just feel disgusting, you know, like in my own body. I don\u2019t feel good in my skin, and when I don\u2019t feel good, I don\u2019t want to post, and that\u2019s really honestly the reason I haven\u2019t been posting in the last year or so as much as I used to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These sentiments contrast with <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2021\/06\/30\/bebe-rexha-dances-in-lingerie-for-body-positivity-tiktok\/\">comments<\/a> she made in June. At the time, Rexha posed in lingerie and flaunted her self-acceptance on TikTok.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow much do you think I weigh?\u201d she asked in the video. \u201cNo ones [sic] business. Cause I\u2019m a bad b*tch no matter what my weight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued, \u201cBut let\u2019s normalize 165 lbs.\u201d The caption for the clip was, \u201cFeeling like a bad b*tch today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That came after an Instagram <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CNfbQmPlvW5\/\">post<\/a> with a similar aim. In December 2020, Rexha posed in a swimsuit with the caption, \u201cThick thighs save lives.\u201d The post said: \u201cI WANNA SEE YOUR REAL BODIES. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. THICK. SKINNY. CELLULITE. STRETCH MARKS. FOLDS. SEND ME VIDEOS. NO PHOTOSHOP BULLSH**. POST ON TIK TOK\/ INSTAGRAM AND TAG ME AND ILL REPOST <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/explore\/tags\/everybodyisbeautiful\/\">#EVERYBODYISBEAUTIFUL<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/explore\/tags\/sacrifice\/\">#sacrifice<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s been a massive push lately to \u201cnormalize\u201d all body types and to downplay or outright disregard the benefits of weight loss. Rexha\u2019s most recent statement goes against comments she\u2019s made in the past. The singer also has feelings about ageism, which she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B1EYi9KlvEL\/\">shared<\/a> right before turning 30.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI recently had a MALE music executive tell me that I was getting too old and that my brand was \u2018confusing.\u2019 Because\u2026 I\u2019m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that\u2019s not what female songwriters are suppose [sic] to do, especially for my age,\u201d Rexha wrote at the time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m fed up with being put in a box. I make my own rules,\u201d she continued. \u201cI\u2019m tired of women getting labeled as \u2018hags\u2019 when they get old and guys get labeled as sexy with age.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m turning 30 on August 30 and you know what, I\u2019m not running away from it,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m not gonna lie about my age or sing songs that I feel will sell better because they sound younger.
