He continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The idea that Biden\u2019s going to suffer electorally unless he makes even more dramatic moves to weaken the border is ludicrous. Immigration is a losing issue for Democrats and had he done more, he\u2019d been even deeper kimchi than he is now \u2026 It\u2019s bananas frankly. I think he should probably get into a different line of work.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Already, Biden\u2019s ratings have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/epolls\/other\/president-biden-job-approval-immigration-7359.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">battered<\/a> by his apparent unwillingness to control the border. Moreover, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) knows his party lose five Senate seats in 2014 after trying to push the \u201cGang of Eight\u201d amnesty in 2013.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden\u2019s administration is considering a plan that would give border crossers, who were subjected to former President Donald Trump\u2019s \u201cZero Tolerance\u201d policy, about $450,000 each in a reparations-style payout. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4xYojvRqoh\">https:\/\/t.co\/4xYojvRqoh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1453830933681950720?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 28, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>In his December 26 appearance on CBS\u2019 Sunday show, O\u2019Keefe echoed the establishment\u2019s false and self-serving narrative that migration is a gain for the United States:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The most underreported and under-discussed issue in this town is immigration. There has been a real failure to act for too long, and it continued this year, [amid] certainly plenty of urgent priorities that had to be addressed, whether it\u2019s the economic recovery, the ongoing fight with the pandemic. Now, of course, things like inflation and just keeping this country together, frankly.<\/p>\n<p>But one of the things that just undergirds everything about this country, the economy, job creation, the fight over illegal drugs, schooling, you know, and yeah, national identity and security, is this issue that for too long \u2014 this entire century \u2014 presidents have said they would try to tackle and they just have not.<\/p>\n<p>There were some modest attempts made in this debate over Build Back Better to see if they could tuck something into an already big bill. I think most of those involved knew that that was not going to happen, but they had to at least appear as if they were trying.<\/p>\n<p>But the problem for Democrats going into next year is if they expect to be able to turn out the kinds of people that they need to win congressional elections and governors elections in the west, especially, they have to show serious commitment to having tried.<\/p>\n<p>This happened to them in 2014, and they failed and they\u2019ve tried it again \u2026 and they claim they\u2019re going to try again.<\/p>\n<p>But absent presidential leadership \u2014 and this is an issue he seems allergic to discussing when he gets asked about it or when he\u2019s confronted with it \u2014 it\u2019s going to be a problem for this country that just persists for too long.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Business advocates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/12\/17\/zuckerbergs-fwd-us-claims-no-amnesty-ensures-midterm-defeat-for-democrats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">are pushing<\/a> the same line:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">2021 was yet another year when Washington failed to take necessary action on immigration, and President Biden seems \u201callergic to discussing\u201d it, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/edokeefe?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@edokeefe<\/a> says. That means it will remain a defining issue for the key races of 2022. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XeefPV6N1M\">pic.twitter.com\/XeefPV6N1M<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Face The Nation (@FaceTheNation) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FaceTheNation\/status\/1475232532316704791?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 26, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>O\u2019Keefe\u2019s views are \u201cjust the accepted wisdom among liberal whites in the Acela Corridor, Ivy League folks, and it\u2019s just another indication of how clueless they are about what\u2019s actually going on in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/12\/09\/liberal-strategist-democrats-should-mimic-donald-trumps-policies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">but not all<\/a> \u2014 liberals impose their identity politics perspective on Latinos, and so they insist that Latinos favor more migration, Krikorian said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIdentity politics is a real thing \u2014 but it is only one thing\u201d of many factors, Krikorian countered:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Many voters do think in identity terms \u2014 to a degree \u2014 when considering who to support. But it\u2019s not the only thing they\u2019re thinking about. There are all kinds of other concerns like bread and butter economic issues, and like other kinds of cultural issues \u2014&nbsp; firmness against crime, support for new normal social relationships. (PAUL RATJE\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Excluding California, \u201cwhat you see is a big, big shift towards the Republican Party,\u201d Madrid said in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PoliticologyPod\/status\/1474027452921958401\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a recent podcast<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s not small&nbsp;\u2026 if you take out the [California numbers] we\u2019re probably not that far from parity between the two parties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The shift towards the GOP is fueled by the Democrats\u2019 collective hostility to middle-class industries and jobs, he suggested:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>There\u2019s plenty of data to suggest that the real problem here is a policy problem: The Democrats are increasingly a party that is having trouble with working-class Americans, because of a lot of the issues that they champion. They are viewed as the enemy of a lot of industries that provide for an $80,000 to $100,000-a-year job working in energy, working in the construction trades, working in all of these industries \u2026 It\u2019s really that simple: \u201cIt\u2019s the economy, stupid,\u201d right?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cOne of the reasons why the Democratic Party is having such difficulty right now with the Hispanic vote is because it views non-white progressives as an aggrieved racial minority,&nbsp; it views the Hispanic voter as a black voter [but] they\u2019re not even close,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The left-wing Equis Research group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/12\/16\/pro-migration-groups-accelerate-hate-campaign-against-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported December 13<\/a> that almost 51 percent of Latinos want to rollback asylum migration, and 45 percent want to reduce legal immigration:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8\ud83d\udea8 New poll paints a very different picture of Hispanic voters than what&#8217;s often peddled in the media:<\/p>\n<p>\u2611\ufe0f 69% support Trump&#8217;s tax cuts<br \/>\u2611\ufe0f 55% support more spending on border security<br \/>\u2611\ufe0f 51% support limiting refugees and asylum<br \/>\u2611\ufe0f 49% support reducing illegal immigration <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jKfdbFtMmg\">pic.twitter.com\/jKfdbFtMmg<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Giancarlo Sopo (@GiancarloSopo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GiancarloSopo\/status\/1470912243554566146?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 15, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>O\u2019Keefe is also wrong about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2020-election\/2020\/11\/05\/munro-nyt-op-ed-shocked-stunned-to-see-blacks-vote-for-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">black voters attitudes<\/a> towards migration, Krikorian said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Black voters haven\u2019t really been mobilized as immigration restriction is forced politically, but there\u2019s no way that expanding immigration or weakening enforcement is going to increase black turnout for Democrats. And it doesn\u2019t even look like it\u2019s all that important to Hispanic voters. I mean, Donald Trump \u2014 of all people \u2014 increased his Hispanic share of the vote and for Republicans in general.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Many&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/immigration-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polls show<\/a>&nbsp;that Americans want to like immigrants and immigration. But the&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/duckduckgo.com\/?q=site%3Abreitbart.com+neil+munro+lankford+Immigration&amp;atb=v302-1__&amp;ia=web\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">bipartisan<\/a>&nbsp;federal government has exploited that openness since 1990 to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/extraction-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extract tens of millions of migrants<\/a>&nbsp;from poor countries&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/20\/census-biden-drives-up-foreign-born-population-across-swing-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to serve U.S. businesses<\/a>&nbsp;as workers, consumers, and renters.<\/p>\n<p>That economic strategy damages ordinary Americans\u2019&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/03\/12\/bloomberg-opts-h1bs-take-two-three-new-tech-jobs-each-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">career<\/a>&nbsp;opportunities, cuts their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/04\/08\/elite-academics-hide-amnesty-wage-pain-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wages,<\/a>&nbsp;and also raises their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/16\/new-yorks-mayoral-rivals-vow-cheap-housing-plus-more-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rents<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The strategy also curbs Americans\u2019&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/07\/11\/president-trump-wins-big-on-secret-meatpacking-robots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">productivity<\/a>, shrinks their political&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com+%22john+binder%22+%22demographic+change%22&amp;rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS946US946&amp;oq=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com+%22john+binder%22+%22demographic+change%22&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.10228j0j4&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">clout<\/a>, widens&nbsp;regional wealth&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/08\/13\/zuckerbergs-data-says-amnesty-gives-economic-windfall-coastal-democratic-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gaps<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/01\/survey-elite-imposed-migration-is-transforming-national-politics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">radicalizes<\/a>&nbsp;their democratic, compromise-promoting civic&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/search\/?s=%22white+supremacy%22#gsc.tab=0&amp;gsc.q=%22white%20supremacy%22&amp;gsc.page=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">culture<\/a>, and allows elites to ignore&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Diseases_of_despair\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">despairing Americans<\/a>&nbsp;at the&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JorgeAl49986803\/status\/1439791277571145737?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">bottom of society<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/03\/30\/harvard-harris-poll-5-in-6-americans-want-to-end-immigration-from-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wide<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/01\/14\/poll-americans-want-companies-hire-americans-before-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">variety<\/a>&nbsp;of little-publicized&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/04\/13\/ipsos-poll-nearly-8-in-10-americans-want-immigration-moratorium-for-u-s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polls<\/a>&nbsp;has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/08\/05\/poll-swing-voters-hugely-oppose-2020-democrats-promising-more-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shown<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2020\/04\/24\/poll-trumps-opponents-applaud-his-jobs-for-americans-immigration-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deep<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2017\/01\/31\/poll-shows-public-support-trump-migration-poicy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broad<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/05\/28\/business-poll-backfires-shows-public-wants-less-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opposition<\/a>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/11\/16\/exit-polls-3-in-4-voters-want-less-immigration-during-and-after-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">labor migration<\/a>&nbsp;and the inflow of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/08\/06\/ipsos-poll-public-opposes-migrant-workers-by-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">temporary<\/a>&nbsp;contract workers&nbsp;into jobs sought by young U.S. graduates.
