The website claims to be \u201cthe most comprehensive database\u201d of its kind. It currently tracks 200 schools, though Jacobson told The Daily Wire it will likely expand to monitoring 500 schools in the coming months.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The website also provides students and parents with the ability to<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/criticalrace.org\/submit-school-information\/\"><span>submit information<\/span><\/a> <span>about ongoing critical race theory training and curriculum they come across on campus.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The site describes critical race theory as an outgrowth of European Marxism which argues that American social life, political structures, and economic systems are founded on race. The ideology observes issues only through a racial lens.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Critical race theory is not new nor is it exclusive to college campuses. Critical race theory began in the 1980s in law schools under the name \u201ccritical legal theory,\u201d and has since expanded to include librarians via \u201ccritical librarianship\u201d and general \u201canti-racist\u201d thinking and behaviors.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Jacobson told The Daily Wire that his team began tracking college campuses \u2014 as opposed to libraries or secondary schools \u2014 because he believes the foundations of critical race theory are most prominent in higher education.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201c[Higher education] is the source of the problem, it\u2019s where the ideological foundations were developed, and the training of activists takes place,\u201d Jacobson said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Boston University has become the leading example of critical race theory in use in higher education. The school \u2014 with the help of \u201canti-racist\u201d scholar and author of \u201cHow to be Antiracist\u201d Ibram X. Kendi \u2014 founded the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/antiracism-center\/the-center\/\"><span>Center for Antiracist Research<\/span><\/a> <span>and a \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/antiracism-center\/research\/datalab\/\"><span>Racial Data Lab<\/span><\/a><span>.\u201d The goal of these institutions is to push critical race theory in all facets of higher education.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Following the death of George Floyd at the hands of police, other universities have been pressured by activist students to undertake \u201canti-racist\u201d actions. Universities have changed admissions policies, implemented \u201canti-racist\u201d training, changed curricula, funded critical race theory programs, and even \u201cre-imagined\u201d campus police departments.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Pressure from activists has been largely successful. At the University of Chicago, the English department<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/english.uchicago.edu\/?fbclid=IwAR1vW5HOB42Rf6q5ETmvR9k2iWRFnLtJOKXU7y_BUnBb0GxwIqrdSsMTmck\"><span>announced<\/span><\/a> <span>it will only consider graduate school applicants who are interested in \u201cBlack studies.\u201d Johns Hopkins University<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/hub.jhu.edu\/2020\/06\/12\/hopkins-pauses-jhpd-for-at-least-two-years\/\"><span>announced<\/span><\/a> <span>it will delay the development of a campus police department for at least two years to re-evaluate policing in society.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Jacobson, who also runs a conservative blog called Legal Insurrection, has fallen prey to supporters of critical race theory in the past. In June of 2020, Jacobson critiqued Black Lives Matter\u2019s ideology \u2014 which is infused with critical race theory \u2014 and was met with<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/ivy-league-professor-says-intimidation-campaigns-gaining-ground-on-campus\/\"><span>backlash<\/span><\/a> <span>from the Black Law Student Association, Cornell alumni, and law school faculty who wanted the university to \u201ctake immediate action\u201d to fire him.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>CriticalRace.org is hoping to expand to monitoring primary and secondary schools in the future and plans to roll out listicles and rankings of top institutions promoting critical race theory.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
