Vance blasted&nbsp;White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony&nbsp;Fauci&nbsp;for saying the United States should consider a vaccination mandate for domestic air travel to combat the spread of the coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Fauci said that such a rule could incentivize unvaccinated Americans to receive the shot, which is currently&nbsp;required for non-citizens coming to the U.S. by air.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ve got to ask yourself why it is you\u2019re making that requirement,\u201d Fauci <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/travel\/article\/fauci-domestic-travel-vaccine-mandate\/index.html\">told<\/a> MSNBC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re making a requirement for vaccination for people to get on planes who are coming into the country, that\u2019s understandable. You don\u2019t want to bring more cases into the country,\u201d the director for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut if you\u2019re talking about requiring vaccination to get on a plane domestically, that is just another one of the requirements that I think is reasonable to consider,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Vance, who has repeatedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/09\/19\/j-d-vance-biden-coronavirus-vaccine-mandate-difference-between-free-country-medical-tyranny\/\">spoken out<\/a> against mandates, took aim at Fauci\u2019s latest suggestion in a pointed statement Tuesday.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"und\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PiCDjz22F7\">pic.twitter.com\/PiCDjz22F7<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 J.D. Vance (@JDVance1) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JDVance1\/status\/1475917149977956364?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 28, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEvery time Fauci opens his mouth, the entire country groans in unison,\u201d Vance said. \u201cWe are in the midst of a massive national COVID wave despite readily available vaccines, yet, instead of focus on making therapeutics like Monoclonal Antibodies available to anyone who wants them, our bureaucrat in chief just proposed a freedom-crushing and economy-crippling vaccine mandate for domestic airline travel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new proposal won\u2019t save any lives and solves no problems except for Fauci\u2019s sad desire to make headlines by threatening Americans with a loss of their most basic liberties. Shame on Fauci for this new proposal, shame on the media for cheering him on, and shame on Biden keeping him in his job,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration has thus far balked at imposing a vaccination requirement for domestic air travel. Two officials said Biden\u2019s science advisers have yet to make a formal recommendation for such a requirement to the president.<\/p>\n<p>The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations, said a vaccine mandate on planes could trigger a host of logistical and legal concerns.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Associated Press contributed to this report.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ohio Republican Senate candidate\u00a0J.D.
