Our hearts are entirely full,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/memorialhealth\/photos\/a.127479760381\/10158523696695382\/\">said<\/a> parents Maria and Jose Marquez after the birth of their four babies.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Mariah and Jose Marquez already have a five-year-old daughter and had been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbs42.com\/regional\/christmas-miracle-georgia-hospital-delivers-quadruplets\/\">trying<\/a> to have another child for a few years, WSAV reports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI found out pretty young that I had some fertility issues,\u201d said Mariah.<\/p>\n<p>During her pregnancy with their five-year-old daughter, Mariah was told it was unlikely she would have more children.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cOur first was basically, we were told, she was a miracle,\u201d the mother shared with WSAV.<\/p>\n<p>Though the odds were against them, the Marquezes persisted and did not give up hope.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/memorialhealth\/photos\/a.127479760381\/10158523696695382\/\" data-width=\"640\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/memorialhealth\/photos\/a.127479760381\/10158523696695382\/?type=3\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\">\n<p>\u201cSheer happiness! So, we basically went into shock when we found out,\u201d Mariah explained.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>On December 15, Mariah and Jose&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtoc.com\/2021\/12\/22\/fort-stewart-couple-welcomes-quadruplets-just-time-holidays\/\">welcomed<\/a> three sons and one daughter into the world at the Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, according to WTOC. The quadruplets were delivered at 33 weeks via C-section following a healthy pregnancy, WSAV reports.<\/p>\n<p>Jameson was the first to be born at&nbsp;3lbs 12oz, \u201cFollowed by Andrew (4lbs, 4oz), Joseph (4lbs 7oz), and finally Delilah (3lbs 1oz),\u201d according to WTOC.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very rare to have quadruplets. It\u2019s anywhere from one in five-hundred thousand to one in a million pregnancies,\u201d said Dr. Ben Mackowiak, a neonatologist at Memorial Health, per WTOC.<\/p>\n<p>The newborns have been receiving highly specialized care in the hospital\u2019s natal intensive care unit (NICU).<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Mariah was finally able to hold her daughter on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDelilah is our fighter \u2026 She went through major surgery at three days old, she\u2019s already been extubated at seven days old and she\u2019s amazing,\u201d Mariah told WSAV. \u201cAnd she\u2019s definitely going to give her brothers a run for their money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jose, a soldier in the U.S. Army, echoed his wife\u2019s words.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s already fighting as hard as I\u2019ve ever seen anyone ever fight,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mariah reflected on her journey that brought her to where she is now, as a mother to five.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cGoing from thinking that could never happen, to having your heart so entirely full, is just the most incredible feeling,\u201d she told WTOC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The newborns are still in the NICU and will be released when they can eat on their own, the outlet reports.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Georgia mother and father were elated to welcome their newborn quadruplets into the world just before Christmas. \u201cSheer happiness!
