The man makes claims that then-Illinois State Sen. Obama ingested cocaine and had sexual relations with him on Nov. 6 and 7, 1999. Text over the video reads: \u201cThis man was killed in a car \u2018accident\u2019 2 weeks after this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact found that the video clip shows a man named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3QK0eGp3N6A\">Larry Sinclair<\/a> speaking during a 2008 press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Footage of the full press conference on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3QK0eGp3N6A\">YouTube<\/a> shows Sinclair\u2019s self-described attorney Montgomery Blair Sibley stating that the National Press Club had rented the space to his client but did not condone his views, support them, or have anything to do with his remarks.<\/p>\n<p>Sinclair\u2019s remarks about his relationship with Obama were unsubstantiated, according to 2008 articles by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2008\/06\/obama-accuser-has-long-rap-sheet-011164\">Politico<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210512183653\/https:\/\/www.wired.com\/2008\/06\/a-campaign-firs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wired<\/a>. Sinclair also did not die in a car accident two weeks after making those claims. He published a book in 2009, after he made the comments during the press conference, entitled, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/books\/edition\/Barack_Obama_Larry_Sinclair\/CiogMQAACAAJ?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Barack Obama and Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex, Lies and Murder<\/a>\u201d which detailed his allegations about the then-president.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Sinclair <a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2018\/11\/01\/cocoa-mayoral-candidate-sinclairs-colorful-background-has-undercurrent-election\/1817738002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ran for mayor<\/a> of Cocoa, Florida, in 2018, finishing in third place with less than 30 percent of the vote, Florida Today <a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2018\/11\/06\/elections-2018-cocoa-mayor-results\/1907656002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>. He has also been active <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/seeknmeann\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">on Twitter<\/a> as recently as Dec. 23, 2021. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/08\/20\/fact-check-barack-obama-emmet-sullivan-malik-obama\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Photo Show Barack Obama With Federal Judge Emmet Sullivan?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A wider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=Larry+Sinclair+car+crash+June+2008&amp;rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS890US890&amp;oq=Larry+Sinclair+car+crash+June+2008&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57j33i160.7790j1j7&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">internet search<\/a> found no record of Sinclair being involved in a fatal car crash in 2008.
