Bennie Thompson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/january-6-attack-investigation\/2021\/12\/27\/e2c37488-62d4-11ec-8ce3-9454d0b46d42_story.html?utm_source=piano&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=2906&amp;pnespid=r6t4AiNfNLoTw6fFqjq4EonUrxPyCpprN.G62.BvpBRmMIxb.odEtJ582zezij8DAu.EJscz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> The Washington Post. The committee has already reached out to Pennsylvania Rep. Scott <a href=\"https:\/\/january6th.house.gov\/news\/press-releases\/select-committee-requests-information-representative-perry\">Perry<\/a> and Ohio Rep. Jim <a href=\"https:\/\/january6th.house.gov\/news\/press-releases\/select-committee-requests-information-representative-jordan\">Jordan<\/a> about their interactions with then-President Donald Trump and members of his administration. Perry was reportedly involved with an effort to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/01\/25\/michael-horowitz-donald-trump-alter-outcome-election-jeffrey-clark\/\">install<\/a> then-Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Clark as the head of the Department of Justice, and Jordan reportedly spoke to Trump during the Capitol riot.<\/p>\n<p>Both Perry and Jordan have declined to meet with the committee, decisions that Thompson described as \u201cunfortunate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they choose not to come voluntarily, we\u2019ll have to see what, if any, options we have as a committee,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to hearings with witnesses, the committee \u201cmay issue a couple reports and I would hope for a [full] interim report in the summer, with the eye towards maybe another \u2014 I don\u2019t know if it\u2019d be final or another interim report later in the fall,\u201d an aide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/january-6-attack-investigation\/2021\/12\/27\/e2c37488-62d4-11ec-8ce3-9454d0b46d42_story.html?utm_source=piano&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=2906&amp;pnespid=r6t4AiNfNLoTw6fFqjq4EonUrxPyCpprN.G62.BvpBRmMIxb.odEtJ582zezij8DAu.EJscz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a>. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The House of Representatives has previously voted to hold former Trump advisor and media personality Steve Bannon and former White House Chief of Staff Mark <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/14\/house-votes-hold-mark-meadows-criminal-contempt-congress\/\">Meadows<\/a> in contempt for refusing to cooperate with the committee.<\/p>\n<p>The committee is also reportedly interested in speaking to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, and Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks. Both Gosar and Brooks were named in a request <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/30\/january-6-committee-capitol-riot-subpoenas-house-republicans\/\">sent<\/a> by the committee to telecommunications companies asking them to maintain the phone records of eleven members of Congress, and McCarthy <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/13\/jaime-herrera-beutler-revelations-trumps-impeachment-trial\/\">spoke<\/a> with Trump by phone during the riot.<\/p>\n<p>The committee expected to resume holding public hearings in early 2022, multiple aides with knowledge of the committee\u2019s schedule told The Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>During the committee\u2019s first public hearing, several Capitol Police officers <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/27\/capitol-riot-police-officers-testify-violence-destruction-michael-fanone\/\">testified<\/a> about their experiences during the riot.
