Rowling that they\u2019re trying to cancel her from her own creative endeavors. But in the case of the Harry Potter retrospective \u201cReturn to Hogwarts,\u201d those attempts have proven unsuccessful.<\/p>\n<p>Rumors began when promotions for the 20th anniversary TV event seemed to exclude Rowling, a move many believed was intentional because of what a controversial figure the children\u2019s book author has become. In 2020, Rowling penned an essay that criticized aspects of the trans movement and led to her being labeled a \u201cTERF\u201d \u2013 a \u201ctrans-exclusionary radical feminist.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cHarry Potter\u201d creator has leftist political views but maintains an adamant stance against many trans policies. Due to her refusal to apologize or change her mind, Rowling has been mostly ostracized from mainstream Hollywood. All this drama puts \u201cHarry Potter\u201d fans in a difficult position.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a good chance \u201cReturn to Hogwarts\u201d promoters intentionally excluded Rowling from the trailers released so far. But now it appears the millionaire author will be part of the project. New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/12\/28\/j-k-rowling-isnt-snubbed-from-harry-potter-tv-reunion\/\">reported<\/a> that Rowling is featured in a new trailer for the 20th anniversary special of the beloved \u201cHarry Potter\u201d movies. During the newly released clip, \u201cHarry Potter\u201d cast members are discussing the impact Rowling had on all their lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo many people were falling in love with J.K. Rowling\u2019s writing,\u201d actress Bonnie Wright says in the clip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s very easy to forget that at the time, people were talking about \u2018the death of reading,\u2019\u201d Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry Potter, agreed.<\/p>\n<p>Robbie Coltrane, who played Hagrid, echoes that sentiment. \u201cOne of the many reasons I admire J.K. so much is that millions now read books who would never have lifted a book up in their lives, and you suddenly realize the power of writing,\u201d he said. It\u2019s worth noting that Coltrane defended Rowling\u2019s \u201ctrans-phobic\u201d comments while most other cast members did not.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, a real-life Quidditch league chose to disassociate from the author despite the fact that she made up the game in \u201cHarry Potter.\u201d This came on the heels of yet another tweet Rowling sent out questioning a new law in Scotland which would allow male rapists to be called women if they self-identified as trans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rowling said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-penised-individual-who-raped-you-is-a-woman-j-k-rowling-slams-scotland-police-for-move-to-record-male-rapists-as-women-based-on-self-identity\">in a tweet<\/a>, \u200b\u200b\u201cWar is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman,\u201d in reference to George Orwell\u2019s book \u201c1984.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s an excerpt from the original essay Rowling wrote that began all the trouble.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But, as many women have said before me, \u201cwoman\u201d is not a costume. \u201cWoman\u201d is not an idea in a man\u2019s head. \u201cWoman\u201d is not a pink brain, a liking for Jimmy Choos or any of the other sexist ideas now somehow touted as progressive. Moreover, the \u201cinclusive\u201d language that calls female people \u201cmenstruators\u201d and \u201cpeople with vulvas\u201d strikes many women as dehumanising and demeaning.
