I felt called to serve and we both agreed that I should run,\u201d Cawthorn <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/23\/madison-cawthorn-divorce-cristina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> in a Dec. 22 statement about their separation.&nbsp;\u201cOur victory was unprecedented, but overnight our lives changed. That change has been both hectic and difficult, it\u2019s neither the pace nor the lifestyle we had planned for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cawthorn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.app.com\/elections\/results\/race\/2020-11-03-house-NC-34977\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">won<\/a> his seat in the House in 2020 by 12 points, defeating Democratic candidate Moe Davis and two third-party challengers.
