Look, there is no federal solution,\u201d Biden said as he began speaking to the governors. \u201cThis gets solved at a state level.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The president appeared with his coronavirus team on the artificial White House video conferencing set. He&nbsp;indicated that only governors could end the pandemic by leading the charge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt ultimately gets down to where the rubber meets the road,\u201d Biden said, referring to state government.&nbsp;\u201cMy message to the governors is simple. If you need something, say something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the omicron variant of the virus is a \u201csource of concern\u201d but urged Americans not to panic.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The president acknowledged the long lines for people trying to get coronavirus tests before the Christmas holiday.&nbsp;\u201cSeeing how tough it was for some folks to get a test this weekend shows that we have more work to do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He claimed that if he had known there would be a shortage he would have acted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not enough. It\u2019s clearly not enough,\u201d Biden said. \u201cIf we had known, we would have gone harder, quicker if we could have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the call Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) thanked Biden for working with governors but warned that the federal government\u2019s effort to buy up coronavirus tests would make it difficult for states to compete.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat dries up the supply chain for what we might offer as governors,\u201d Hutchinson said.<\/p>\n<p>Biden spoke to reporters briefly as he left the White House for his beach house in Delaware, claiming \u201cthere were no complaints\u201d during his call with governors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey said they\u2019ve gotten all that they need.
