He said the state\u2019s volume of illegal aliens further amplifies the wealth divide.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>\u201cThe middle class has left,\u201d he said. \u201cAbout ten million people left California in the last 40 years, and we know where they went. They went to Nevada, Idaho, Texas, Florida, Tennessee. W<\/span><span>e have half of all the undocumented illegal aliens in the country. Twenty-seven percent of Californians were not born in United States, whether they\u2019re legally [here], or residents, or citizens.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Hanson characterized California\u2019s polarization based on wealth as resembling the Antebellum South\u2019s racial segregation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThat is the nexus: great wealth, great poverty. But the way I look at it is \u2014 they would not want to hear this \u2014 but just think of the old Confederacy or the Antebellum South \u2014 one party, Democratic \u2014 this is a one-party state. They had Big Cotton. We have Big Tech. Big Tech runs the whole state, just like Big Cotton [ran the Antebellum South].\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>He continued, \u201cThe Old South, we had the plantationist class. [Today], these are the people that live in Woodside or Berkeley Hills or Palo Alto, then you had everybody else: black slaves, and you had the poor, what they called \u2018white trash.&#8217;\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><span>There was no middle class. When I go to Stanford, I see all these wealthy kids there, and then I go along El Camino, everybody\u2019s living in a trailer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI go to the Apple or Google or Facebook campuses, and people are living in the streets that work there,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Contemporary racial agitation pushed by Big Tech\u2019s management and the broader left is reminiscent of racial segregation in the Old South, Hanson said. He noted how today\u2019s left-wing fetishization and commodification of imaginary victimhood based on ethnicity and race resemble the focus on racial designations within the Confederate States of America.<\/p>\n<p>He remarked, \u201cThe other thing about the Old Confederacy, they were obsessed with race, and it was the one-drop rule. Everybody was trying to figure out, when a baby was born, what the precise percentages [were], and then they were a ranked society. When I get my email in the morning, it\u2019s all about one thing: race \u2014 r<span>ace, race, race, race, race.&nbsp;<\/span><span>I turn on the television: \u2018white privilege.&#8217;\u201d<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cCan Elizabeth Warren pass as a minority? Can Ward Churchill pass? Rachel Dolezal?&nbsp;<\/span><span>It\u2019s like African Americans in the South trying to pass as white people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He concluded, \u201cIt\u2019s just a sick fixation on our superficial appearance.&nbsp;<span>It\u2019s a very Confederate society, California. It\u2019s medieval, feudal.
