Kevin Cramer (R-ND) discussed the actions of Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) over the weekend, saying Manchin\u2019s choices could have helped the Democratic Party.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">On Fox News\u2019 \u201cSunday Morning Futures,\u201d Cramer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/sen-cramer-joe-manchin-may-have-just-saved-the-democratic-party\">said<\/a>, \u201c\u2026Chuck Schumer has people pulling and pushing and tugging from every possible direction. And I\u2019m sure he\u2019s wondering what direction to go. But I do know this, that Joe Manchin may have saved the reelection of two, three, four, possibly, Democratic senators who would have had to vote yes on BBB \u2014 Build Back Better \u2014 but would rather not have voted at all. They were awarded this opportunity to give it a pass for a year. And yet they just seem hell-bent on doing [it]\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He added: \u201c\u2026in my mind, what\u2019s such a great tragedy about it is that a once-great Democratic Party has become this bizarre socialist agenda where they seem to be putting all the chips on the table this year while they have control of the House, the Senate and the White House. And thank God for Joe Manchin and others like him, but especially Joe Manchin, who in trying to save America, in the process may very well save the Democratic Party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/republicans-court-manchin-to-join-gop-over-deepening-rift-with-white-house\">reported<\/a> last week, \u201cRepublican senators are attempting to persuade Democratic moderate Sen. Joe Manchin (WV) to swap parties and join the GOP amid his disagreements with President Joe Biden\u2019s agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cSenate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) have made overt attempts recently to convince Manchin to become a Republican. If Manchin were to make the move, the GOP would take over as the majority party in the Senate,\u201d The Daily Wire noted.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">On December 19th, Manchin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/this-is-a-no-joe-manchin-says-he-cannot-vote-to-continue-on-build-back-better\">announced<\/a> he was planning to vote against President Joe Biden\u2019s mega social spending package \u2014 the Build Back Better Act \u2014 and his announcement was followed by outrage and attacks from the Left.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Manchin appeared on \u201cFox News Sunday\u201d at the time and said, \u201cthis is a mammoth piece of legislation and I had my reservations from the beginning.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI\u2019ve done everything humanly possible. And you know my concerns I had, and I still have these concerns,\u201d Manchin said, going on to discuss inflation. \u201cIt\u2019s real, it\u2019s harming every West Virginian, it\u2019s making it almost \u2014 difficult for them to continue to go to their jobs. The cost of gasoline, the cost of groceries, the cost of utility bills, all of these things are hitting in every aspect of their life and you start looking at \u2014 then you have the debt that we are carrying at $29 trillion, you have also the geopolitical unrest that we have. You have the COVID, the COVID variant, and that is wreaking havoc again, people are concerned.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201c\u2026I\u2019ve always said this, Bret: if I can\u2019t go home and explain it to the people of West Virginia, I can\u2019t vote for it, and I cannot vote to continue with this piece of legislation. I just can\u2019t. I\u2019ve tried everything humanly possible, I can\u2019t get there,\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/joe-manchin-takes-high-road-in-response-to-cori-bush-suggesting-hes-racist-for-opposing-biden-agenda\/\">Manchin<\/a>&nbsp;added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Some have pointed out how the strategy by many Democrats to seemingly humiliate Manchin after his announcement could be ineffective at gaining his support in the long run.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Last week, Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/i-wouldnt-characterize-it-that-way-jen-psaki-tries-to-claim-joe-manchin-wasnt-bullied-over-bbb\">asked<\/a> White House press secretary Jen Psaki, \u201cIs there going to be a softer, I guess, approach \u2026 in dealing with Sen. Manchin &amp; some of the other \u2026 Democrats in the party who have been very vocal about being disappointed in him. Is there sort of a shift in strategy since this all blew up over bullying?\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWell, again, I wouldn\u2019t characterize it that way, Jacqui,\u201d Psaki began. \u201cBut I would tell you that Senator Manchin is somebody who has won many tough-fought fights in West Virginia.
