The law bans products from Xinjiang province, home of the oppressed Uyghur Muslims, who have been herded into concentration camps, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/07\/06\/exclusive-chinese-concentration-camp-survivor-i-saw-people-tortured-denying-xi-jinping-is-god\/\"><span>tortured<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2019\/07\/02\/report-chinese-documents-show-xinjiang-camps-indoctrination-centers\/\"><span>brainwashed<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/02\/04\/witnesses-chinese-concentration-camp-victims-endured-gang-rapes-electric-batons\/\"><span>raped<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/11\/15\/exclusive-concentration-camp-survivor-china-killed-baby-unknown-surgery\/\"><span>murdered<\/span><\/a><span>, and used as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2020\/07\/20\/report-uyghur-slave-labor-produces-cheap-made-in-china-masks\/\"><span>forced labor<\/span><\/a><span> by the Chinese Communist regime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>During the final days of the Trump administration, the U.S. State Department <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/u-s-declares-chinas-treatment-of-uyghurs-genocide\/\"><span>classified<\/span><\/a><span> China\u2019s oppression of the Uyghurs as an act of \u201cgenocide.\u201d Two Uyghur human rights groups <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/12\/14\/uyghur-groups-to-file-genocide-charges-against-china-in-argentina\/\"><span>filed<\/span><\/a><span> charges of genocide against the Chinese Communist Party this month in Argentina, which agreed to hear their case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Chinese government and its propaganda organs constantly deny or excuse their campaign of terror against the Uyghurs. The regime also uses its \u201csharp power\u201d of economic leverage to prevent discussion of the Uyghurs\u2019 plight. On Thursday, China was able to force U.S. chipmaker Intel to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/intel-apologizes-for-asking-suppliers-to-boycott-chinese-region-over-uyghur-abuses\/\"><span>apologize<\/span><\/a><span> for sending a letter to its suppliers asking them to avoid sourcing products to Xinjiang.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>The <\/span><i><span>Global Times <\/span><\/i><span>clearly expected China\u2019s pressure campaign against corporations in the free world to bear further fruit by inflicting \u201chuge costs\u201d against companies doing business in China. The article approvingly mentioned Intel\u2019s apology and ground its boot in the submissive American company\u2019s face, warning Intel that the \u201crage\u201d of the Chinese people has not yet been appeased, and they might demand \u201cmore commercial ramifications\u201d for the chipmaker unless it makes further amends.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <\/span><i><span>Global Times <\/span><\/i><span>threw in some menacing quotes from Chinese \u201cnetizens\u201d that Walmart and Sam\u2019s Club might be punished like Intel for withdrawing Xinjiang products from their shelves, and warned China\u2019s new rare earths mega-corporation might be used as an economic weapon against the United States to retaliate for the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The article approvingly quoted a Chinese university professor predicting \u201cthere may be more controversies like the one concerning Intel\u201d and scoffing at \u201carrogant\u201d U.S. companies for mistakenly believing \u201ctheir products are irreplaceable and the Chinese people\u2019s rage is temporary.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The article continued Communist China\u2019s all-out assault on the very notion of human rights and the practice of using international sanctions to moderate the behavior of oppressive regimes like the one in Beijing:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span>The act means companies are forced to undergo self-review and pull anything related to Xinjiang out of their supply chains \u2013 the US is actually attempting to remove Xinjiang from the global industrial chain, Zhu Ying, a professor on human rights law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law, told the Global Times.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The bill has nothing to do with justice or human rights, but it a way for US politicians to hijack US companies\u2019 interests in free trade, and force them to kneel down to the US\u2019 ideological bias. It also hijacks Americans\u2019 right to know the real China and the truth about Xinjiang. It\u2019s blasphemy against real democracy, human rights and free trade, Zhu said.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The move also hurts the interests of US companies. For example, as China produces 22 percent of the world\u2019s cotton, 84 percent of which comes from Xinjiang, the US\u2019 previous moves and hyping of banning imports from China\u2019s Xinjiang have hurt US apparel companies.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>The <\/span><i><span>Global Times\u2019 <\/span><\/i><span>hysterical rant against the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act never got around to explaining how it was supposed to be \u201cblasphemy against democracy,\u201d since it was duly debated and passed by the American legislature.
