Kurt&nbsp;Bottorff <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebestmix1055.com\/2021\/12\/22\/police-anonymous-donor-help-brighten-holidays\/\">says<\/a> the event has become a tradition as the donor has provided the department with&nbsp;\u201ca substantial amount of money\u201d to give away randomly to Fremont residents over the past seven or eight years, according to KFMT.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>This year, the Secret Santa <a href=\"https:\/\/nebraskapublicmedia.org\/en\/news\/news-articles\/secret-santa-helps-fremont-police-department-spread-holiday-cheer\/\">gave<\/a> the department $5,000 to distribute to 50 drivers, according to Nebraska Public Media.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThey put money into a card \u2013 $100 bills \u2013 and give them to police officers,\u201d Bottorff told KFMT. \u201cWe go out and they are called cash stops. Basically, we have positive contacts with motorists out and about. Several times, officers have been met with handshakes, hugs or tears.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The yearly operation brings officers just as much joy as it does the unsuspecting drivers, especially during the pandemic and the hardships that have come with it.
