Joe Manchin told the White House last week that he was willing to endorse some type of billionaire tax in President Joe Biden\u2019s domestic spending package before coming out against it days later, The Washington Post reported.<\/p>\n<p>Manchin said that a tax on billionaires\u2019 wealth could be a means to pay for the package, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/us-policy\/2021\/12\/24\/manchin-sinema-biden-bbb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to the Post, citing three people familiar with his offer to the White House. The outlet reported that it was unclear whether Manchin provided an estimate of how much money the provision would raise.<\/p>\n<p>Programs in Manchin\u2019s $1.8 trillion counteroffer included universal pre-K for ten years, expansions to the Affordable Care Act and billions of dollars for climate change mitigation measures, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/us-policy\/2021\/12\/20\/manchin-biden-child-tax-credit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to the Post, but it did not include the child tax credit, which many Democrats have touted as one of the single biggest policy achievements of the year.<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/22\/joe-manchin-mitch-mcconnell-john-cornyn-switch-parties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Top Republicans Pressure Manchin To Switch Parties)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7311280\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7311280\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">President Joe Biden traveled to the Capitol multiple times in attempt to secure enough support for his Build Back Better bill.
